2nd stop in the San Antonio mission. Its very low key but it has some nice trails if you want to go for a walk. The exibit is small and self service. There are a few rangers around if you need help. They are mainly perserving the buildings so be nice.

What a beautiful piece of history. It was very easy to navigate with a small child along the trails. The grounds were very well kept and beautiful. There are trails to go on walking or on a bike. I would definitely recommend this place.

Out of the four missions on the tour, this one is ranked last. If your time is limited skip this one. Church closed, nothing to see but ruins mostly.

It is a working church with a historical mission well maintained. It is now a FEDERAL PARK, so it is very well maintained. In back of the Mission extend trails that go into the new River Walk walking system. The walkways are smooth, wide, concrete, and can support foot and bike traffic. (There are bicycles and E-bikes to rent at various points.) From here you can literally walk or ride all the way to the Downtown River Walk (if you are willing to traverse 12 miles or so.) Throughout, there are little cards explaining the history of the various landmarks. There are bridges, aqueducts, sculpture exhibits, and the irrigation system restored from the Mission historical period. It is a lovely place to enjoy history, nature, River, and sky. There are turtles and fish in the river and various wild birds. Nearby is Stinson Airport (also accessible from the walking trail if you head north). You will likely see small aircraft practicing touch and go take-offs and landings as you walk or ride. The Mission has a bus stop right at the entrance. This place kept my wife and I sane during the CoVid lock down period. ...

All 4 missions in the nps are very impressive. Well kept by people who care about their remaining with us as a record of the history and culture they represent. Was privileged to take a tour of them and really felt a part of...
