i have been attending this church since 1997....but it was not until 2010 that i TRULY became a parishioner or this church....what happened is that my husband and i FINALLY attended an ACTS retreat and since then, have discovered what an AMAZING group of people are there...we have always gone every sunday and my kids have been going to RE since kinder and have been really impressed with the classes and teachers....but before, were were PCPers....PARKING LOT, CHURCH, PARKING LOT....we never interacted with anyone...just waved HI to those that we say week after week but after our ACTS retreat, wow, what a DIFFERENCE that made....we see our SISTERS AND BROTHERS IN CHRIST...lots of HUGGING....we became RE teachers, joined CYO with our kids and became COACHES, my hubby is now in the KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS and i am a EUCHARISTIC minister....all this after we found out what it meant for us to be a TRUE church goer....and the MASS was meant so much more as we became more involved....our pastor FATHER PAT is truly amazing and loving and kind...but stern and wanting us to be a part of out parish as it should be....there is always something going on during the week...youth group, rosary guild, prayer groups, etc....so there is something for everyone....we can't say enough about this parish....also, the POWER POINTs and MASS GUIDES that we are given as we come in make us be better at what we are suppose to do or not do...helps guide us....and the POWER POINT is there for those that are hard of hearing or do better with reading something to process it....my kids love it because they love being able to read what is being said thru out the mass and what keeps their interest!!! LOVE...
Read moreI am not a member of Prince of Peace-- but I do attend almost every evening mass that begins at 7pm regularly.
The people of this parish are friendly and the priest seems nice, his homilies are ok, but I prefer the deacons.
The major thing I do not like about this parish is the fact that Father Pat does not lead mass in a very assertive manner. While you are saying mass, you and the other parishioners often get lost, and forget prayers you otherwise would always remember. I think is it about the way Father Pat leads the service, that makes it easy to get lost.
I also attend St. Brigid with my grandmother sometimes, and find that the priest there says mass with such authority and assertiveness, that the whole congregation is lead accordingly, and never loses it's place.
Also, Prince of Peace tends to get very warm, like their ac is on the fritz, and the music could be a little better--and last thing, the power points are a bit crass.
Peace of Christ...
Read moreThis is a beautiful church family very connective. I have been a member for 33 years. They only disappointment I have there is no where to set down during mass. They save seats for there children during mass time. The children come out of class to find there parents or live ones. I just wish they would have the children go to class during the whole mass then picked up after mass from there Sunday teacher. The community has grown pass 1604 so on. They build homes but not church for these family to attend them. We stop going to church 2 years ago because every mass is over loaded no where to set down it you dont get there right after the last mass you my will be standing up. I have a physical need I need to set in a chair or pualI hope the church takes this into consideration to have the children pick up from class not mass. I really miss going to prince of peace church for mass on Sundays. So just a heads up you may have to stand the...
