This is definitely the place to be if you’re looking for some action and relaxation kid friendly bring sunscreen that’s for sure they got a small water park just enough to satisfy you the lake is beautiful management they just come out and greet you any questions you ask them they have a solid answer they just know the land like the back of their hand in that area it is a special place there are some special birds that come on a regular basis every day if I remember correctly these birds are very rare and you can’t find them unless somebody guide you to them. The campground well I’ll tell you it’s fantastic whether you’re pitching a tent or pulling in a small RV they can accommodate you. We have a large family large as in extremely large some of my family wanted to camp with their children in the tent great experience the lake is Low I guess because of the drought. It’s amazing we booked one whole area of the park and we requested four trailers they bring they bring the trailers and set everything up air conditioning propane tank cooking sleeping for eight people including children but you can work it out and add more people into your trailer comfortably just everything you need to make you comfortable. It says waterpark adventure it is at the rest of the day and morning and after the park closes for the water adventure that’s when you throw the logs on the fire place let the children play badminton soccer volleyball etc. we brought the equipment but they have the area it’s nice to have a place when they say it’s private it’s by reservation only book an advance what you have to do anyway They have a great general store you could drive or walk to it’s pretty cool made friends with the owner waited for the ice truck like everybody else it is an adventure hot by daytime kind a cool my night time but with the campfire very comfortable. It is the place we go regularly now and will be planning another trip soon. Thank you to the employees and the owner and the host turned in To a incredible weekend we actually did it on Fourth of July we thought it would be a madhouse but it wasn’t very pleasant check it out it’s in between the mountain and the ocean what a great deal and if you’re in the Southern California area it’ll be a short trip about one hour 20 minutes that’s about the same waiting time in the Los Angeles area once you’re out of Los Angeles it’s great when I say it’s great is that you could pull over to all of The fruit stands antique stores small little town and just have a blast. After many years at the same residence over 25 years we relocated just around the corner but the photos are available it’s just a matter of me getting to them as a large family it’s hard to keep up with everything.Thank you to the general store in the host in the employees that work there it is a very large place to take care of and they are doing an excellent...
Read moreI moved to Ojai 3 years ago and wanted to take my family to the Castas Water park in the summer. This weekend for the second time in a month I tried to enter the water park. The first time I invited my family from out of town to come play at the water park, they drove the 4 hours to come to find we had to purchase tickets ahead of time. Disappointing but my fault that I didn't research more. So this past weekend I invited my grandson to come again and go to the water park. My daughter went on line and ordered three spaces for us and got her reservation confirmation. Cool, we go to the park, we are told tickets are sold out, she tells them she has her reservation, pay the $15 dollars to park, I proceed to stand in line with my grandson while my daughter tries to find where she has to show her reservation receipt. No one around, no open windows in any of the buildings around. Other people in line were confused and wondering where they needed to go. 5 minutes before the gate opens a girl instructs the crowd quickly then disappears,so when we get to the front of the line after waiting over 30 minutes with a VERY excited happy 3 year old, we are told we had to get out of line and go to the office behind the event gate which had just opened. So my grandson and I go to the back of the line while my daughter goes to the office. There she is told that tickets are sold out and the $7.50 reservation fee cannot be refunded. She stated she had paid for the tickets online and got the reservation receipt. They said no sorry you need to have your tickets so she said well then I will pay for the tickets again and cancel the online order, the girl told her no we are sold out and you cannot buy tickets. My daughter said what about my reservation receipt? The girl was rude and unrelenting and my daughter came out extremely distraught. As we walked back to the car my grandson is confused and pointing to the park crying please please please, I want to go inside, he was so distressed we couldn't even get him in the car. So 20+ dollars, a very upset daughter and a crushed grandson we leave. I was livid and said let's take them a crying 3yr old and they can explain to him why he can't go play at the park YET AGAIN because the parks system sucks and the employees are rude and uncaring. I am so so upset over this, it broke my heart YET AGAIN that my family drove 4 hours to play at this water park and were treated badly and my grandson was woefully affected. Boo to the water park, o points, no stars and two...
Read moreSuch an amazing, fun, EASY, day trip adventure for my kids and I. Gorgeously remodeled with exciting giant water dumping bucket that dumps a huge but somehow safely fun amount of water on participants. There are 3 slides, the green one is open slide/ medium speed. The Orange is fast and tunnel style. I (am nearly 40) didn't dare to try the blue one which is also a tunnel slide but my kids (aged 10, 8) absolutely loved it.
My review is based on two factors: Safety: Tons of attentive, kind, hard-working young lifeguards here at every turn. Moms and dads and other caregivers can feel confident that their older children have extra eyes on them in the water. For younger toddlers, of course, you still need to watch your own children! Ease of use: Close to mostly any city in Ventura County. We drove just under an hour. No traffic. You can park for free on the highway just before the Casitas Recreation entrance gates. That's what we did cuz I like to save a penny. Otherwise, you can enter and pay a fee to park. Then you walk in, show your ticket (recommend to buy online so that you don't risk the park selling out) and go in. There's a lazy river on the right side, and the water feature "adventure" on the left. Bathrooms and also port a potties were all clean and in good service. KEY RULE: They have a strict no drinks or foods policy once you enter the water park, which is very effective at keeping insects out of the play area and not stinging your kids!! My kids have been stung by downed bees and yellow jackets at other water parks and beachy picnic spots. You are welcome to picnic just outside the water park gates and there are picnic tables and a food truck that sells street tacos(birria!! And Quesa birria!!!), burgers, hotdogs, corn dogs, ice cream, chips, soda, candy, and Mexican paletas (ice pops). It's pretty convenient!
Just go, you will...
