Great place for a beach walk and exploring. There are tide pools and shells, and these blooby things called velella velella ( by the wind sailors ). Also watch out for oil in/on sand. I got a bunch on my shoes. Hang gliders take off from the cliff up above And there’s lots of drift wood to create cool sculptures. We also saw surfers and a seal This time we saw lots of these little blobby things with jellyfish type sails washed up on the beach called velella velella. Great way to spend two or three hours and it’s so big that it’s not crowded. There are bathrooms and the Covered picnic area and the parking lot is up above on the cliff,. There’s also a paved path that you can take to come down to the beach.

I have slightly high beach expectations and I do recommend this one based on a few things. 1. Not crowded. Because there’s only street parking, it allows some crowd control and I appreciate that during these times. I’m talking specifically this location on Google Maps. 2. Clean beach! 3. Water is pretty clear. Coming from SB it can be a hit or miss depending on a lot of things. The water here is pretty nice and the farther down you walk, I found it getting better. Aside from that, you have to rock climb to get back up to your car if you park on the side.

OMG was paradise. My hubby brought me there for my 40th bday. We stayed at a local airbnb and it was amazing. The people in PR are so friendly and everyone speaks English. I had a wonderful time soaking up the sun on the beach! The food was delicious and it felt so peaceful. It was truly Island time there. We didn't have any plans, each day we played it by how we felt. And we rented a car, drove around sight seeing and felt completely safe. I will be back!

The beach is really pretty. But due to oil spills in the past, when we left my husband had a giant gob of tar stuck to his foot from walking on the beach. Had to go to Home Depot and get pumice scrub to remove it. Also, this beach is dog friendly in that dogs are allowed on the beach on leash. We thought this would be a great opportunity to acclimate our dogs to the beach. But none of the other dogs are on leash and no one enforces leash laws so we were almost the only ones with dogs on leash. People came right up with their unleashed dogs, making it extremely difficult to control our dogs. Unless your dogs are already older and extremely well trained, this is not the place for said training to take place, the other dog owners are not very respectful...

I grew up here and LOVE this beach. But as the tourist season comes, so do tourists. The beach gets very crowded and people can be extremely rude! I've walked my dogs down this beach and people, for some reason, leave their dogs off leash, and when their dogs attack my dogs, they do nothing but stand at a distance and yell at their dog. I had one chick thoughtful enough to set her beer down long enough to walk half way to her dog and call him. The beach should be fun and safe for everyone. With that being said, if you plan on visiting, be responsible and courteous, and clean up after yourself. Some of us are not tourists, this is our home, and its hard to watch...
