The SCST trail complex is one of the best examples of coastal singletrack in Southern California. If you live in Orange or San Diego County, take the time to drive over here and ride for hour after hour, mixing and matching, climbing and snaking down swoopy singletrack trails. There is no right way to go, just do it! Park at the end of La Pata and drop in, or over by the Carl's Jr. and climb up along Christianitos (my preferred). Either way, bring lots of water as it can get hot in the sun, and there are no facilities except back at the skateboard park on La Pata. Read moreI was shopping for a MTB and stopped at YT up the hill from these trails I demo'd a bike down here and was not impressed. All of the trails I rode could really use some work. Rutted, not ridden often. It could really be something. I'm surprised YT doesn't put a little effort into these trails if this is where they're telling people to demo the bikes. (I.E., a friend of mine didn't buy a YT bike because she had such a crappy time on the trails (and she's a hammer).

The trails are super unorganized. Really needs a lot of work. YT and other businesses should invest. I encountered a fox !!! Not a coyote during the day...plus rode over a snake...for people not familiar with reptiles they should put signs up saying rattle snakes might be there or wildlife encounters...
