My now husband and I were married at this event space March 2019. We decided that the Diamond package was the best bang for our buck with a possibility of 130 guests as it included a nice cocktail hour, the most food options, the cake, and premium linens. Our experience with the club had its highs and lows. The best way to describe our experience is with a pros and cons list:

Pros- -As the bride, the day of our wedding was just beautiful. All landscaping looks amazing in our photos! -Everyone enjoyed the food! From the appetizers at the cocktail hour to the main dish. We offered steak, salmon, or risotto for the main dish. The food was served hot and as far as I knew everyone got what they had asked for. My gluten free guests even loved their salmon. One said she could have drank the sauce that came on the side! (Thank you Chef Fernando!) -Our signature cocktails were delicious (and potent)! -we were permitted to be in the locker room from 9AM until our event was over which was a huge plus! All hair and makeup was done at the venue. -waitstaff was very pleasant!

Cons (without going into too much detail)- -In the process of our 10+ month journey with BHCC we quickly learned to document everything and keep record of all conversations. We were told that the dumpster area would be covered and even offered to buy something to cover it ourselves on multiple occasions. Thank fully we did because what was provided was shorter than me and went about half way across the dumpster area. -the bar ran out of beer by the last hour of the evening -Accounting: we were lucky enough that my parents paid for the down payment. In order for us to pay the rest we asked to make monthly payments. Therefore there were a few cards on file however, we specified in each email to our coordinator which card to charge and the amount. There were at least 5 major accounting errors to which the reply was, “well we don’t usually do monthly payments” or “sorry, the accounting system is old”. The biggest mistake made was that we were due a LARGE credit once all was completed and we did not receive the credit until 3 weeks later and several emails. So unnecessary. -wedding coordination: A wedding coordinator was included when choosing the venue. Unfortunately, we were left feeling that this is not the correct position for BHCCs current event coordinator. Though mostly polite, she was passive aggressive with any criticism, sometimes condescending in detailed discussions with my husband and mother, and did not seem to handle pressure well.

Unfortunately, I cannot fully recommend BHCC for your event! My recommendation to them is to hold on tight to their Chef, landscaper, and waitstaff. I also recommend that if there is even a shadow of a doubt that something can be done for an event they should be more straightforward and say, no, instead of making promises...

WORST Membership Club!!

Signed up student membership(called “Social member” for our daughter. When I signed with Director at the office, there was no information about food and drink expense spending. As we all know, private membership requires minimum food and beverage spending, but couldn’t find any information on agreement that I signed. ONLY says that we are responsible whatever we spend!! On the paper. I asked him and he said that I wouldn’t worry about it. Just pay what we spend!! I paid whatever they billed me. I thought that it was expense. Later I found out that they charged me unspending difference from $320 quarterly. I complained but BHCC didn’t care about it and didn’t solve the issue. I didn’t know that we had to spend $320 quarterly and there is no indication on the paper and/or document that I signed and got it from office. So far basically lost about $500. If I got the proper information, I would used it all, not wasting it. Student can have 3 holes loop practice round any time? NO WAY. It is extremely hard to have practice round loop around range just 3 holes. Director said that it won’t be any problem. It is just 3 quick holes that students can go out any time. Whenever we tried to have quick practice round, they always said “sorry! or maybe later late afternoon. I am not talking about early morning. Even if she tried to get practice round around 1pm, I get rejected even during weekday. Range never get cleaned. Broken tees are everywhere and ball are old. They should get rid of all the damaged and worn out balls. They added some new balls but keeping old balls. Hard to get tee time. Using APP and website to reserve tee time is impossible. No Tee Time shown at all for any days. I even checked next 2 weeks advance, no tee time. If you call pro shop, no tee time on weekend and will make you wait saying “hold please”. Putting green is too plain and kind of slow. Bathroom and shower room are outdated. Don’t even want to use Shower room. Never gives and shown any information ahead. If range is closed for some activities and any other reason, you won’t find out until you get out here. They have website, but it is useless. If you call, it will take time to connect proshop. Restaurant food is...

Played 08FEB2019. Course was in good shape, but SLOW. Tried to get an earlier tee time, but was denied, even though the course looked wide open when I got there. They gave me a 10 am tee time with an elderly couple. The elderly couple told me to play ahead as I'm sure they didn't want to play with me. That was OK since the feeling was mutual. I played solo and buzzed off the first 5 holes until I ran into a foursome. They let me play though on the next hole and I buzzed off a couple more holes until I ran into a fivesome on 8. I thought I could jump them at the turn, but some of them were already teeing off when I got there. A few others from their group were at the halfway house getting snacks. One of them told they would let me play though except there are groups in front of them. I saw they were waiting on 11 when I finished 10. I turned around and packed it in after 10 as I had a flight to catch. The lack of etiquette was a turnoff, but can't blame the course. Next time I won't play if I can't get an earlier tee time. The course was in decent shape, but some of the fairways were a little shaggy. I'll chock that up to the winter season and the excessive amount of rain SoCal received that week. Pic of par...

As a San Diego native and Rancho Bernardo High graduate, I can say The Heights is truly a gem for events and weddings! This venue has so much to offer— from the lush grassy ceremony site to the stunning golf course access that creates the perfect backdrop for couples’ romantic portraits. By the time the sun sets, you’re soaking it all in with a cold one on the patio, and before you know it, the dance floor is calling your name! The staff here is incredible, especially Kiana. She had both the bride’s back and mine throughout the entire day, making sure everything ran smoothly. Kiana and the entire team at The Heights are professional, warm, accommodating, and genuinely caring. They understand the neighborhood and create a welcoming atmosphere where couples and guests can truly be present and enjoy their celebration. As a photographer, I only get one shot to capture these moments, and The Heights makes that easy with its natural beauty and amazing staff. I feel blessed every time I get to serve couples here and create memories that last a lifetime! — Brandon Colbert Photography, Your Favorite Local San Diego Photographer

I wanted to bring to your attention that we noticed a tree was removed yesterday, and it appears that another one may be in the process of being taken down. I would like to emphasize that these old trees play a crucial role in preventing golf balls from hitting our house. Our property is in an area with a high risk of being struck by golf balls. Attached are photos of the golf balls we have collected over the past couple weeks. Just recently, a golf ball passed dangerously close to my head. I kindly request that you cease any further tree removals, as it is important to maintain this natural barrier. If you continue to remove trees, please be aware that you will be taking on the responsibility for any damage caused by golf balls. Thank you for your attention to this matter. (I already sent email with attached pictures) Best regards, Hemed
