Cool views. No bathrooms or facilities. Quick loop, single track (mostly) trail. Lots of walkers without dogs* here, enjoying the quiet, meditating, etc. Would not be a good choice for groups of dogs, barking dogs, rowdy, excited socializing/playful pups or dogs that may approach other people/dogs. There ate several other places in this same park that are better suited for those activities/visitors...this trail is different and special for being quiet, less populated. Please don't ruin it!! Consider if it's the right choice for you before going. Parking lot can have illegal activity going on, or just people taking naps in cars. Read moreFollow the stone blocks with arrows pointing to the direction in which the trail continues for a very cool 2.7 mile loop. You go through open fields and dense wooded zones with some brief uphill/downhill sections. You can also increase your hike's difficulty by choosing to go on the steeper sections that eventually loop back to the main trail. There's also a ton of plaques on the benches and vista points with inspirational quotes that evoke the spirit of walking on this storied path.

Philosopher's Way trail is truly scenic, quiet and serene. On a foggy day it gives you the focus on walking.
