Stayed here for 2 days and 2 nights and honestly there's much better places. Virtually nothing to since the lake is not really close enough to walk to and the road getti nf there has been closed for some time. They really are unfriendly to RV campers. Only 2 cars allowed of which your RV counts as a vehicle. 8$ For every additional vehicle, and yes you will get a ticket for it as well. See pictures lol the fee is 8$ but whatever. The bathrooms/shower are about the only nice part of this campground, from nettle being everywhere to tons of reserved spots never being checked out. We tried for a whole weekend to get utilities spots that never became available because if you just show up to this camp ground they refuse to let you reserve any spots for at least 2 days and you can only reserve spots online?.. For whatever reason, they don't let you run a generator and won't let you reserve a utility spot then your basically forced to drive your RV down the road and let your rig recharge the batteries and whatnot everyday.... don't think it's the staff's fault for really stupid park policies but when there's several utility spots that are 'reserved' and the people don't come for 2 days and there's other people willing to pay for the fee, they should allow you to use it... other parks I've gone to are that way which is great... maybe it's just me but when you try for two days to get a utility spot and there's several that are just sitting empty it just makes you want to leave and go find a more accommodating place...

Between the spots being super close together to the point where people can be whispered around the fire and still be heard lol. So if your expecting any form of privacy or distance between other campers this is definitely not the place to go.

So basically if you come here without a reservation in an RV expecting to have just a little bit of privacy and maybe just maybe check out the lake then this is not the place for you... other places out there with much better things to do than a few views around sunset and hiking trails... Oh and lots of bugs in the warmer seasons..

Had a very bad impression over the 2 days besides the showers and bathrooms (why it has 2 stars). Hope...

ample parking in the official lot. but parking was easy off lake chabot rd (however it was a bit rainy on the day i went, maybe had something to do with it). i parked on the road and still paid the $5 parking fee and $2 dog fee because it's the right thing to do. lots of garbage bins and toilets around (especially on the paved parts of the route). there is a 12-mile and a 9-mile lake loop, we opted for the shorter route and it had great views all around (a lot of the 9-mile loop is not paved once it splits from the 12-mile loop, so wear the right shoes). make sure to pack water and snacks for you and your dog. contrary to what any reviewers say, we confirmed with the ranger that the park is NOT off-leash for dogs. not a bad thing though, it gets rugged real quick off the trail, and the lake is not dog-friendly because of toxic blue-green algae so it's probably not a place you'd want them going too far from you anyway. also check for ticks when you're done, as I found one on my dog's muzzle when we stopped for water. there also seems to be water sports (like kayaking and paddle boats), a boat tour option, a little cafe, fishing, camping, and even a small playground, etc. so something for everyone depending on who you...

This is a review on the RV Campground, stay was around beginning of August: Stayed here for 2 nights while our family toured San Francisco. Accommodations were good. Roads are narrow, with trees quite close to the road. Steep hills on either side of road within campground. Would probably stay here again but chose a different site. The restrooms were typical campground/park restrooms. Not the best condition. Definitely not for a "indoorsy" girl such as my wife. Full hookups, electric, water, sewer. South road was closed due to wash-out. Access only available through the north side. The community you drive through to get to the campground is kind of sketchy. The road from "civilization" is very slow and MANY turns. Takes about 30 minutes to drive in from the main road to campground, even without a trailer. If you're looking for a "quick spot" for someone just driving through, this is not the place. If you're looking to "get away from it all", this is the place. I've stayed in RV Resorts, and I've also stayed in State Parks as well as other Regional Parks. Not the best. Not quite the worst. Beautiful area. Fantastic price...
