I'm starting off with stating that owners of the property DO NOT own the river. The river is a natural formation and they only own the access point through their property. We went on a Monday and apparently they are closed. That being said we got access through another gentlemans property that lives a few houses up the street. Once at the river a lady who is a relative to the owner started asking how we got access to the river. She tried to claim they own the river, which I pointed out they DO NOT, and told us she would unlock the gate because "we needed to leave." Then she changed her mind stating she would allow us to stay for a couple of hours. At that point we had no desire to stay. If all they are interested in making money out of their business and forgetting about being humble then they lost my business and that of anyone I know who would go to PR. Plenty of other places that will make you feel welcome. Go to Las Tinajas and ask for Efrain Del Rio. He knows how to make people welcomed in the island.
Edit- I accessed it legally through a person's property that allowed us in. Second, if COVID is your concern I guess you shouldn't be...
Read moreThis waterfall is located behind the bar, there are big signs with legible parking fees on the left. There was NO free parking with a paid lunch at the bar like other reviews have stated, and that was with a local asking. Entering and exiting the river is more treacherous, not young kid or elderly friendly, perfect if you want adults only. The part where the seven waterfalls meet is about 8 feet deep and looks like you can jump in from the top. The hole immediately narrows into a V shape due to rocks and this is where people like to chill and drink, so you’ll have to scooch around others to pass or exit the river using a rope. I think it would help to put trash bags or something nearby, lots of beer bottles piled up from other bathers, so rivers shoes in case of broken glass. I would hesitate to come here when it’s busy. It doesn’t take many people to feel crowded. You can go further down where it opens up but personally, calmer waters just means more stagnant smells and bugs. Yes, you are literally paying access to someone’s family backyard, but...
Read moreThis was a really nice river with a nice calm waterfall. There's a restaurant right next to the waterfall where they sell surtidos, churrasco, chicken, & more. Usually when it's rained more in the area the pool has seven different waterfalls that run into the same pool, but it hasn't rained so much in the area so there was only the main waterfall, but the water was nice and warm from the sun hitting it, & there were pretty fish in the water that don't mind you getting in with them. The area was fairly clean, but since the water level was low, it was too difficult to go a bit down river to the bigger swimming pools due to the height of the rocks. I do not think this is handicap accessible either. I recommend visiting though, because it still is a really nice view, & a great place to hang out & cool...
