Discovered this place via the AllTrails app. It is pretty hidden between two apt complexes off the 35 frontage road and the little entrance to the open field which takes you back towards the shores of the Blanco River is not conspicuously marked.
For me, however, this was a good thing. I went just before dusk on a Saturday and there was absolutely no one else on the trail but me. The trails walks through an open field then along some brush obstructing the view of the river, but it breaks up in certain places and you are treated to some pretty vistas of the surprisingly clear Blanco. I only did about half a mile of the trail because the mosquitoes were brutal, but I think the entire thing might be less than a mile to be honest. I turned around at this cool little split that had some awesome trees and I even saw a few frogs.

Read moreI love it. The water is see through and I’ve seen some carps and alligator gars in there. I’ve also seen a rough green snake about 5ft long and today I saw a 5ft rattlesnake. It was hard to see because the trail wasn’t trimmed so it spooked me. It’s a good and short trail but lovely nature just watch out for that rattlesnake of the grass...
