My wife and I attended last nights Sheena Easton / Taylor Dayne show. The show was very good . The seats in the center are the worst issue . They are extremely tight and very uncomfortable.
I felt like I was sitting in a seat on a Southwest Airlines Jet. The seats are so small & tight I was stuck trying to get out of my seat. So tight you can’t even move. It was killing my back and hips.
People are sitting shoulder to shoulder next to each other. You are squashed in the small seats.
When we went inside the auditorium to our seat about 7:35 pm . The AC was turned on inside and it was freezing! Then after awhile they turned on the heat up to I swear 90-95 degrees inside the center . Right at the beginning of the show.
It was so ungodly hot and I was dripping sweat during the show. I wanted to go address this. It was miserable!!
I will not be attending any more shows at the Dougherty Center. These seats are not made for adult seating. It is made for petite people or high school kids. Definitely not for adults.
Why would someone want to sit and be crammed in...
Read moreWe as a group rented this place on a Sunday for our drum live performance. Almost 30 performers on the stage that we could accommodate and because the drum had it's own sound we didn't use their sound system however the sound absorber was amazing as the audience really enjoyed the drum rythmic beats without any loud or echo sound. You cannot bring food inside hence we made sure outside we were able to give packed lunch for everyone so that after the performance they can take it and eat it wherever they want but not inside. From the beginning their detailing of what we may need and what we asked for everything was excellently called out on paper. We really enjoyed the service that was offered with a reasonable price. I will highly recommend as the staff and the Theater director are so amazing, they understand what we need and what we don't. We had 400 plus audiences and this Theater accommodates 500 people so it really...
Read moreThe sound system was terrible! The attitude of the staff was worse. At a perfomance over the weekend, the staff weren’t ready for the sound check delaying the program and were rude to guests (we heard many complaints about them restricting every reasonable standing spot in the lobby or even outside the doors), barking at them constantly! If the performing arts center doesn’t have staff that can provide good audio system support and show decent behavior, just a large theater won’t help make it a worthwhile place to go!! Very...
