San Ramon Athan Downs — Attraction in San Ramon

If more parks will like this one we would all spend more time at the park with our kids. Hands down this is my favorite park to take my daughters to.

The play area is large, modern, well maintained, and filled with unique interactive elements including jump points on the ground which trigger sounds. The devil is in the details though and Athens Down delivers with rubberized ground, good shade on both the play structure and surrounding area, and even a handicap swing.

Leaving the play structure Athens Down does not depart from its well-conceived nature. From multiple large fields, to volleyball, tennis and basketball courts, and even room to ride a bike or skate there is practically something for everyone.

It is possible to reserve a time for a party event but you will still want to get there early, have your paperwork, and be prepared to tell someone who may try to set up in your spot that they have to move; because it isn't clearly marked...

Me and My Family Love this Park!!! We Love it because we always throw our Annual Family Reunion BBQ at this park and we've doing since 2004. There is plenty of parking, it has a playground for the kids, basketball & tennis court, baseball field, a huge grassy area for soccer, bathrooms. I always enjoy the park in early morning when the sun barely out. The park is kept pretty clean and also very safe to be, even at night. Tennis courts are in good condition. Good place for baseball and tennis games as well as gathering. There's always a police unit car frequent the park at night. The only thing that I'm sadden are those dying redwood trees along Montevideo Dr. I wish there were something to be done...
