One of my favorite waterfalls on the island. It is nicely built up now with great parking and a great easy walking path to get to 2 of the waterfalls if you park on the restaurant entrance to the main shared waterfall. That grants you access to the main waterfall and an upper one. If you go through this awesome campground side it’s a fun adventure hike through sloped trails sometimes with mud and you have to trek in the water a little but you do get to visit the one private extra waterfall which is the third spot and then you hike from that one towards the main one that’s shared or even further to the other top one. It is more of a fun adventurous nature walk. Currently it charges per person and you can park and walk or take the car just a little further for lesser amount of a walk if your vehicle is a little bit more off-road friendly. Each of the 3 waterfalls are unique and worth the visit! The Main shared one is the best because it’s large and has a rope to climb up a little higher to jump or slide down and has a small cave that you can swim into for a second. Parking on the restaurant side has a cost per vehicle so bring cash and it does have a little restaurant currently called Sha’s and bathroom on site. On the campground side there are portable bathrooms and a small shop that you can purchase drinks. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable plus they also hand you a map so you know how to get to the locations. The waterfalls are very cold no matter when because it’s fresh mountain water so keep that in mind and definitely recommended to bring water shoes or solid shoes so you can stand on the rocks and river easier and walk the trails otherwise your bare feet would be cut up or sore. Each waterfall has unique things to see and do. The private secluded one is not much for swimming but just wading and enjoying the actual waterfall if you want to bathe a little but the other two are ideal...
Read moreThis is not the real entrance to Gozalandia! They will charge you $5 per person if you come to this side. This one is the Gozalandia Campground and yes you can still make it to the Gozalandia Waterfall but the hike is not good for children or elderly people. They say is an 8-minute walk from the parking area but with small children or older folks it takes way longer and it's not safe. The real entrance it's on the other side of the road named: Cascada Gozalandia. In that entrance not only is the parking only $10 per car but the parking is way better and all you have to do is walk down stairs to the waterfall. I feel lied to and even walked back to the car to move to the Cascada Gozalandia area as it was way better for my family to go up the stairs instead of doing that miserable hike. I essentially paid double because I paid the $20 ($5 per person) and then paid the $10 for the Cascada which was way worth it!!!
When the campground says shared waterfall it means that you are walking over to the Cascada one. The campground also has a private waterfall but that is not the famous one and we we're not interested...
Read moreWe visited this attraction and for the next time we’re going to only park at the regular Gózalandia entrance. Although the hike and private waterfall was nice I can’t get over how the guides left us stranded at the big Gozalandia waterfall after it started pouring. We couldn’t take the trails back to the campground because it was flooded and the current was moving fast. When we called they said, “see if someone can give you a ride back or we can pick you up for $40”. When we couldn’t find park personnel to take us back to our car we called to pay for the ride back to our car, they said they couldn’t. We spoke to the employees at the restaurant and they told us trying to walk the street back to the car would take us 2hrs with the up and down hill and lack of sidewalk. Again, loved the excursion but not when my family has to be left stranded. This should be disclosed that in the event of rain you cannot get back...
