These pictures don't show it well, but what looks like clouds is actually smoke from the fires in central Oregon drifting North August 19th, 2022 (left is north in these pictures). The river below is the Sandy, which flows N/NW to the Columbia a few miles further from here.
Parking is tight. RVs and buses are supposed to be able to get in, but they'll be squeezing through. Consider parking on a side street and walking over to the viewpoint if you have a big rig or trailer.
