I took my children to the Sussex Sunflower Maze on a weekday in late summer. The check in was easy and care free, it was $10 for an adult and $6 for child. The fields were beautiful, sunny sunflowers were everywhere in many different varieties. We were given a map with a picture of the maze and a peace sign. I understand this was an arial view but there was no way you could see the peace sign in the sunflowers from the ground. The sounds of the birds and bees were all buzzing around which added to the ambience of the experience. It was a very nice leisurely morning in the fields. My take aways were the following: There was next to no props to take pictures with or do anything “post worthy”. There was a small wagon with a flag on it and that was pretty much all we saw. When we got back to the check out area there were items for sale such as honey, stickers, veggies ect. My children picked a very small sticker which they charged $1 each (huge rip off), and there were buckets there with older looking flowers. We selected 4 flowers for $12 (another rip off). The biggest disappointment of all is that there was no pick your own area! There should be a designated area where you can at least cut and pick ones that you want and bring them home. Pretty over priced for just viewing the...
Read moreSunflowers galore! These pictures don’t even do it justice. There are more sunflowers than I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s absolutely beautiful. If you’re planning to take a lot of photos then make sure your battery is fully charged and that your shoes are stylish but still practical enough for a long walk through the field.
Here’s a tip though: BRING CASH. They do accept card but the wifi connection here isn’t great so you might have to wait a while for the credit card machine to work. My boyfriend and I waited about 20 minutes for it to go back online which we didn’t mind but it still was a good reminder to bring cash if you know you’ll be in a rural area.
There was live music near the entrance when we went which was nice. And on your way out, I recommend buying a jar of honey and a flower bouquet as a...
Read moreSuch a lovely family owned farm. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They allow pets in the maze as long as they are well behaved which is a plus. They have snacks for kids that are not extremely overpriced. PortaPotty is located in the parking area. Parking is limited, so on a busy day you may have to park on the street. It’s $10 for adults and I believe $6 for children. Kids under 3 years old are free. (Double check their website for admissions) When in bloom the sunflowers are absolutely beautiful. I never even knew that there is more than just one type of sunflowers including red ones. Overall, this scenic farm is worth the price for the lovely and even romantic walk. They close around 6pm but will let you stay till the sunset. I stayed way too long an no one bothered to come and...
