If you haven't visited Edge Of The Lake Vinyards, you might want to consider trading in your Netflix subscription for a weekend of grape-filled joy. My wife and I stopped by over the weekend, and let me tell you, it was like stepping into a fairy tale where the fairy godmother is a sommelier and the magic wands are wine glasses!
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the breathtaking views that made us feel like we were in a romantic movie—if only we had a dramatic soundtrack playing in the background. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, ready to guide us through a tasting experience that felt like a delightful treasure hunt for our taste buds.
Now, onto the wine! Each sip was like a mini-vacation for my mouth. The reds were bold enough to make me feel daring and the whites were crisp enough to make me wonder if I could quit my job and become a professional wine taster (I’d still need a side gig, though—maybe a wine and cheese pairer?). The rosé was so refreshing I almost considered bathing in it (note to self: bring a rubber duck next time).
We even took a stroll around the vineyard, where I tried to look sophisticated while pretending to know the difference between “terroir” and “teriyaki.” Spoiler alert: I still don’t know. But who cares when you’re surrounded by grapes and love?
To top it all off, we ended our visit with a charcuterie board that was almost too pretty to eat… almost. I’m pretty sure I could hear the cheese whispering sweet nothings to the salami as I devoured it.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a place to sip, savor, and possibly plot your next great adventure (or escape from reality), Edge Of The Lake Vinyards is the place to be. Just remember to bring a designated driver, because you’ll want to make sure you can return for round...
Read moreMy friends and I did a girls day on Saturday. We had planned it for a couple of months based on everyone’s schedules so were very excited to go. We picked this winery because they claim they are black-owned when in fact they are not! In fact, one of the employees there - named Chris, made it very clear to me that HE was the co-owner. There were about 3 big groups at the time we were there, all eating and drinking and having a great time. We ordered the cheese board (by the way, the food menu is very limited. Literally only 2 other things on there (pita chips and hummus and bruschetta) which were not very tasty). Once we ordered the cheese board, Chris came to our table and said we need to keep it down because we were being loud. He was very dismissive and rude when he said it and like I said, there were two other tables right next to us who were probably speaking in the same octave as us and were not addressed in a similar fashion. Anyway, based on that, one of the girls in my group went up to the kitchen and told the staff that they should cancel the order on the cheese board and we would like to pay for our tab and leave. And this point, “Co-owner Chris” came to our table and said we didn’t have to pay and we should just go ahead and leave now! He was extremely rude, dismissive and clearly had a problem with the large group of black women there. We proceeded to leave and one of the other workers shouted that “this place wasn’t for everyone”. I have never been treated with such disrespect especially in an establishment that touts itself as being black-owned. We will NEVER recommend this place to anyone we know and definitely will...
Read moreI hate to speak negatively of a local business but when one is so far out of touch with reality, then something needs to be said. Let’s start with the wine and wine service. $18 for a glass of red wine is off the charts expensive. That’s more than I’ve paid for a glass in Manhattan, NYC restaurants. Second, we had our dog with us, and as is customary we sat on the outdoor patio. Unfortunately they would not serve a wine flight to us on the patio. Too concerned about their “precious” stemware potentially being broken? IDK. I guess they feel like their customers are irresponsible and can’t mind their wine glasses? Third, as I mentioned we had our dog. The owners have dogs that wander the property and are not friendly to other dogs. Right off as soon as we got out of the vehicle we were greeted by a Rottweiler that came at us looking like it was going to attack our dog. Second their was another dog that would not stop annoying our dog while we sat on the patio. At one point the two got into a growling match because their dog would not stop with the harassment. We ended up chugging our overpriced wine, picked up our dog, and promptly left. One and done. Not going back ever again. Don’t bother replying to this review to try to make amends. Instead learn customer service. You may be family friendly, but you are definitely not dog friendly, and our dog is part of our family. Sorry, too many other wineries in North Texas to visit that are...
