Super amazing place, love the Native Landscapes and Garden Center. The extremely knowledgeable and awesome Sue showed me around and introduced me to the world of Sanibel native plants I had only read about in books. Then I met with the awesome Becca, who came to my property and we walked through it discussing what I want, what I have. I knew right then and there I had to hire SCCF to help me on my journey to a 99.9% natural native Sanibel landscape. I am so looking forward to this, Becca and everyone from SCCF I have spoken to has been awesome, knowledgeable, just basically incredible people. As a new person to SW Florida, I am not capable of figuring out what grows where, what works to attract what I want to attract to my property.I can read books, but it is not the same as having a true expert guide you. Even if you are only a visitor to our beautiful island, please take a look at the Native Landscapes. It might give you inspiration as to how to make the place you call home more eco-friendly. If you live in Sanibel, call SCCF for ideas. Learn from experts how to create a beautiful backyard and garden...
Read moreI would give this craphole negative stars if I could. It’s so run down it looks abandoned. There was animal poo in two places on the decking outside the center. The butterfly room looked like a store room for plants in pots. There was a butterfly. We walked the trails out back. More run down decking back to trails that haven’t seen maintenance in a long time. At one point we thought we were at Jurassic Park...after it was abandoned. I was waiting for a velociraptor to pop out of the brush. The mosquitos were so bad along the unkept trail I’m sure I’ll wake tomorrow with West Nile!!! I’m not sure what the people giving this place 4 or 5 stars saw. Maybe they just went into the building. I’ll agree it was nice in there. Some cool turtles. But everything outside...
Read moreAs a new Sanibel resident of 3 years :) we discovered this trail. Tried these trails in December 2020, it was mostly flooded . So happy to see that trails improved and are mostly dry now. It’s beautiful, changing from trails trough tall grasses , along the water, through wooded areas. Absolutely loved it. Saw baby gators, beautiful birds and plants. Walked all trails. About 3 miles. Not recommended for bikes. Do not bring a dog due to proximity to water full of gators !! I cannot believe it took me 3 years to find this gem on Sanibel. It’s pure nature. Thank you Sanibel for leaving this...
