The greatest park in Santa Barbara County by far. I only recently discovered it from a friend. It sits atop a big hill on Las Positas Rd between Hendry's beach and Modoc. There is an area at the lower level for playing sports or walking my dog but the true awe begins at the top. It is there that the best views of a 180°vantage point is and it's truly stunning to see everywhere from East Beach to downtown, the Rivera, the San Ynez mountains, Arroyo Grande Beach and far over the ocean where I could see out to the islands. There is a beautiful tribute to our veterans and my very favorite part. It's a massive sculpture carved out of a single large and beautiful white rock. It is a tribute to people who have suffered from addiction. I found this just as I was approaching my 25th year of being clean from heroin. The woman crouched over in grief really touched me as I saw her as being both myself when I was using to my mom who broken in every way in the past. People are climbing to reach the top as another person looms over the edge seemingly about to lend a hand to the others who are climbing not only from the cliffside but at an daunting angle that is slightly leading away from the top. It is covered with handprints from dozens of people who are faced with destruction of the disease. Truly stunning and from the top I went on a gorgeous walk to the back side of the Mesa from the very end of West Valerio and up to Cliff Drive, down to Hendry's and back to the entrance of Ellings Park via Las Positas between Hendry's and Modoc . There is something there for all ages and people who will find something there that resonates with them. Amazing!

The best view of Santa Barbara, well one of them. Only at times, I had to climb a fence but it was an easy one to climb and dogs have to be a "member'to walk there. That's the only thing I I don't like about it. But its perfect for me. A couple benches scattered around to sit at to watch both sunset and sunrise. This is no the side with the baseball fields. You can access this from that same driveway and walk up the trails to this spot but I didn't even know that it was part of Elings until I got there and saw the sign. I entered from the neighborhood gates. Right now they are open from 7-7:30 but you can squeeze through the gate or hop the fence go be honest. It's so Beautiful the gates should never be shut. A disappointing aspect as it's my understanding that your dog has to be a "member" of the park or you get fined. Lame if you ask me!! Total downfall. But worth the visit for the view.

I highly recommend Ellings Park to anyone around the Santa Barbara area! I’ve had the pleasure of attending the Fields of Funk Music Festival twice at Ellings Park, and both years were fantastic! The outdoor stage setup is perfect for a music festival, creating an awesome atmosphere surrounded by nature. The park itself is incredible, with scenic hiking trails that lead up and around the mountain. On a clear day, you can spot the Channel Islands across the Pacific, including Santa Cruz Island to the south and Santa Barbara nestled to the north. There are sandstone formations, palm trees, and stunning homes built into the hills. You’ll likely encounter a steady flow of hikers, bikers, and even paragliders, which adds to the park's lively vibe. All around great vibes.

Elings Park is one of the best parks in Santa Barbara. Kings Park is a dog-friendly park, dog owners are required to buy an annual membership to have their dogs at elings Park.Park has many conveniences, some of the top canvases are a place to launch hang gliders, softball fields, soccer fields, barbecue areas as well as a BMX track and two RC race car tracks. The park also has many miles of both cross country and downhill mountain bike and hiking trails. I am a huge fan of godric Grove It is a beautiful Park area at the very top that overlooks Hendry's beach and the ocean. there is a deck which is great for weddings or parties and also a grass area that is beautifully maintained there are many beautiful plants at godric Grove as well as restrooms and water for both people and dogs. There are many different areas at Godrick Grove to look out over the city. You're visiting Santa Barbara or a local This is a...
