Parking: lot only, free, limited spacing. Outside: a single lane road with speed bumps leads into a small parking lot and a couple benches. Inside: 2 benches look out towards the shoreline and Mesa. A binary gendered restroom with running water is available. A small barbeque grill looks like it’s never been cleaned. A walkway leads to a foyer with a dried fountain and further along the promenade is an abandoned house or building (soon to be demolished for a pavilion). A picnic table is available on the lower level. Nutrition: bring your own food, garbage cans are available near the restrooms. Troubles: parking for large vehicles and parking availability can be tricky, especially during peak times. Not a place for a large party Summary: this tiny, barebones park is an excellent overview of Santa Barbara and the ocean. There are no amenities other than the restroom, a couple benches, and a sun-bleached...

It was a solid look and decent gaze but to be honest there is not nearly enough room to allow anybody to spread out but the amount of parking allowed the feeling to pack, pack, pack deep and tight in. So I immediately made my way beyond the sign that said not to walk beyond it by simply stepping over and pushing aside they annoying wire that hindered my pace watching things change immediately! No longer did I have to deal with the tourist chatter and open mouths 'ooooh' ING and aaaaah'ing' My way to consider becoming part of the view for as many seconds as it would take for a sound of my own to echo through the fray: splat! The trail off the beaten path was very pleasant and I did enjoy myself and the peace I had around me. - Mikey...

Not much to do here, a few picnic tables and a water fountain. No play structure, playground or restrooms. There is an abandoned house that seems to the the main attraction of the park. Kinda creepy and kinda cool. This is a great place to get away from it all right from the middle of Santa Barbara, but keep in mind that the drive isn't so fun going all the way up. Wonderful views of an old abandoned house left to the City of Santa Barbara by it's second owner. The first owner, Francesco Franceschi, built the house in 1893. It now sits as a monument to Franceschi but is also a moment to neglect by the city who hasn't done much to make the place safe for the handicapped or those who would do dumb things while in this beautiful location with hundreds of fantastic plant specimens from around the world.

The drive up was cool a lot of twists and turns but it it made it fun coming back down as I drive an electric car, woo hoo! The views were emaculate and the absolute best. Real good spot for a date . Bring a thick jacket and or pants and proper shoes as it gets windy , you'll be cold. There isn't much of a hike than more so a walk path if you will . Parking up top is super limited . So you want to make sure to get there early or closer to sunset just before they close. Get picture opportunities.
