We stopped with 3 young kids (8,5,3). We had lunch at the picnic benches, watched the video provided, hiked the trails and checked put the farm. Then we walked through the museum. They were super friendly and knowledgeable and got my kids excited to learn about President Lincoln. The information was repeated enough that they remembered it but not so much that it was anmoying for us adults.
A special shout out to Taylor, who was at the farm the day of our visit, who sang for us, and answered our kids many questions with a gentle voice. She went above and beyond for our kids to have a memorable experience.

   Read moreWe loved this stop. Definitely first check out the video, which is very informative and also narrated by Leonard Nimoy. This is where Lincoln's mother is laid to rest, and then down a hiking trail of twelve important stones of Lincoln's life leads to a farm. The farm is an interactive experience which is great for the whe family. Everyone working there is super nice. I wish I could give more than a 5 star. It also has the Jr Ranger Program and the Bark Ranger Program. So bring the kids and your people friendly dog to earn a badge. Ask the Rangers at the Park...
   Read moreThe museum and living history village were closed due to season which is understandable but does take a lot away from the experience. The buildings in the village are locked up aside from a fenced in chicken coop that still had chickens there which I found strange given the closure. There of course are still park rangers and others around doing maintenance etc. This took maybe an hour to hour and a half to see all that was there and walk the loop.
