An absolutely magical place to keep on the books for a lifetime. We grabbed some lunch from Zoccolis in town and had a relaxing picnic on the beach with the birds and the waves. I was able to get some great shots while exploring the grotto.There were only about 7 other people there which was GREAT considering how full other beaches in the area were. I really respect the privacy, quietness and serenity of this spot. The nature trail was beautiful too, but remember to wear sunscreen or youll get burnt to a crispy like we did haha. Read moreThis is very much a hidden GEM of the California coastline. There are several Beach Coves along a well-maintained trail which is nice for a long walk, biking, jogging, running, or an opportunity to capture some amazing ocean cliff photos. There is a State Park Parking Lot that has facilities and will cost you $10 for a day pass. I do need to inform you however that it is quite a hike from the Parking Lot to any of the beach areas. This location is not used too much for this reason but is well worth the walk just to see and experience the pure beauty of this California...
Read moreA nice little beach on a wonderful bluff top trail at Wilder Ranch. Note that some beaches on the trail are not accessible or are closed for wildlife preservation. Fern Grotto has a pretty easy path down from the trail. You’ll have to hike or bike out here, it’s probably a mile from the parking area. It’s somewhat smaller and a bit further than Sand Plant Beach, along same bluff top trail. Check out the cave and admire the plants growing in the walls.
