The Nuevo Mexicano Heritage Arts Museum (@nmheritagearts) is 100 this year! The museum houses an unrivaled collection, library, and archive of regional artworks, with pieces as old as 1598. In celebration of their “100 years of collecting, 100 years of connecting”, entry fees are waived for all of 2025. Make sure to make the trip to beautiful Museum Hill and see all the history on display. #TheCityDifferent #santafenm #visitsantafe

This is a bit of a landmark in Santa Fe and definitively a must if you want to become familiar with what’s hot in terms of folk, Spanish and local art in the area. I’ve been here a few times and always enjoy the highly political art in display. It is a nice addition to the art scene here and it provides for a great non-threatening and casual gallery atmosphere.

We had a wonderful visit, love the art as well as the history of the building itself. Docent was very helpful and informative. Stopped back to see some new exhibits. Just excellent and very unlike the other Santa Fe museums. Very easy to move through, and see a solid series of exhibits that totally represent New Mexico colonial art.

Simply put: outdated. The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico boasts to explore the Spanish colonial arts and crafts from the 1600’s to the present, yet failed to do so. The small exhibit area, with very little artifacts, was not even educational. I asked the man in-charge at the desk where the Philippine exhibits were located, and surprise, he cannot tell me which section of the room! Most of the time, the man was just tinkering on the computer and was never accommodating.

Even if Santa Fe is promoting this museum, do not visit and waste your $8 for the entrance fee. You can learn about the Spanish Colonial Art somewhere...

This small but sensitively curated collection will be a "must see" for guests who visit us in Santa Fe. Spanish colonial art is not perhaps the most sought after style in the present day, but a visit to this museum offers not only a wonderful aesthetic experience, but also contributes to a better understanding of 400+ years of history since the founding...
