This is a place is like none other. This is your BUCKET LIST must. A museum that will amaze all ages with all of its bountiful Historical Memorabilia that is here so close to El Paso, Texas. The planes are by far some of the finest restorations I have ever seen. And one thing I was grateful to see was probably one of, if not the very BEST, Historical Displays showcasing WASP (Women Air Service Pilots) History-a Huge Salute to America's finest female Pilots of WWII. America will always OWE them OUR gratitude. But that's not all! As a Historian, I was very pleased to see extremely rare items, too many to see in only one day, and even Historical Newspaper Front Pages of great significance that are there ready to ignite a person's curiosity and these FRONT PAGES are extremely rare and difficult to locate today anywhere on the Internet. War Eagles Air Museum is the genuine Real Deal. And please get ready to shop an amazing gift shop with loads of items for adults and children alike. And an actual Pilot gave me an exceptional tour...by the living breathing James Brown, US Army Veteran, author of A Panther's Father Book Series. And there is one car there worth maybe $10,000,000 that you have to see for yourself. A super Museum on the very highest order. Exciting Artwork,...

At first glance, as you park, you will see 2 aircraft on the tarmac, weathered by nature, so you expect something from a typical desert type museum - however - you will step back into time once inside the museum.
All aircraft inside are taken cared of nicely by personnel that are moving back and forth (quietly) and all aircraft are located within a central - "main hanger" -
Once you pass under the entry door make sure you look back to see - "Kilroy" - above.
I was taken in by the aircraft, that I instantly became a yearly member, which I intend to upgrade when I get the chance, to lifetime. :)
I am glad that I did take the chance, paid the small membership due, and became a member, that I now have access to the museum whenever I want to get-away from all the hustle and bustle of El Paso and just enjoy some quiet time.
I will be coming back at least once a month!
I was also impressed with the museums gift-shop, which has allot of modelles and interesting items on display. I haven't looked completely through it, but I did catch many things that I became interested in, so I am definitely returning to get those things.
All in all, you will not be disappointed in this museum or its artifacts.
Its well worth the price...
Read moreI arrived at noon on a Sunday. The location is easy to find, with a Love's nearby for lunch, a snack, or fuel. I received a military discount when entering. Staff is very friendly and informative, and I was given a map. The hangar provides space for a military band to practice, so there was some music on the far side of the hangar. The hangar is not air conditioned, but there are ceiling fans moving the air, so it was cooler than outside. Consider the weather/temperature forecast when planning a visit. You may encounter a volunteer, so feel free to ask questions if you have any. They are very knowledgeable and have plenty of flight experience outside of the museum. We were invited to tour a passenger aircraft simply for showing interest in it. There are some aircraft outdoors along with related military equipment and vehicles. Overall, it was a great experience worth repeating the next time...
