This is a review for the "Lavender Day" event that took place on 6/29/2019.

The great: Excellent atmosphere, clean grounds, beautiful ponds, fountains and grass. The live music was fun and lively. The Native American dancing showcase was engaging and interesting. The Jousting Showcase is always a great time.

The good: Attractions around the area included a lot of fun activities for kids and adults alike. The main visitor's center was calm and inviting. Decent food pricing, quality and flavors. Refreshing lavender ice cream.

The neutral: In a past year's visit to this festival, there were two times for the Jousting event. Having two times definitely is more stress on the performers part, but if it's what they love to do and want to share and promote their program, I feel that is definitely necessary. Another thing I missed in this visit was the more elaborate "Medieval Experience" - tents, and activities. I remember a blacksmith, and multiple vendors. All there was this year was a simple archery range, and knife/ax throwing range.

The bad: Admission price felt very overpriced. $14 for an average adult. I don't remember child pricing. I did recognize that there was a senior and military discount, for $12. I believe there should have been an additional discount for members/devoted customers of Young Living, however much that would be. This would be a great marketing initiative because more people would be interested in supporting the company, and would be more willing to attend this event.

Employees/Volunteers had a general complacency, and were not very professional. Crowd control had issues. It also felt like there was not enough to do for the volume of people attending, making large, inconvenient waits and lines. There was a woman after the Jousting Event that lost a personal possession. She was flustered when she exclaimed that none of the volunteers were able to aid her in her hunt for her lost item, and no one tried to direct her to a lost and found. This was at a lower traffic time in the day, so someone could have made a better effort in assisting in any way. So many volunteers were sitting around.

There is an area of lavender that was open to the public to harvest. They were charging $5 for a basic floral plastic bag and to be able to use scissors when harvesting. This particular event in the festival should have been a courtesy of admission, because it's literally a Lavender Farm at Lavender Day.

Overall, I really want to like Lavender Day as an event. I have definitely enjoyed my experience in the past. This year was disappointing and I know that Young Living is a quality company and so should put on a more...

first the lavender was cut when we got there so there was nothing we came to see there, whatever that's fine we decided to walk around the property and see everything else there. second - you need to take care of whoever runs security, first of all there are no signs anywhere about where you can and can't go, me and my wife saw the horses there and went to look at them, since there was nothing telling us we couldn't go that way, the lady in the peak security truck saw us and told us we couldn't be over there. that's fine so we moved away, we decided to take a round about way to see more, there were some small lavender patches and went to look at those, we saw other people walking a different way so we went the same direction; she came back and told us in her words "I was nice the first time but now you guys need to leave the property or I'm going to call the police" I pointed out the other people even farther down the road and said we just saw them and thought it was okay. her - "I'm going to talk to them, but you need to leave or I'm calling police" all we did was walk around an open area, if there are no signs about where we can and can't go why are you going to kick us off the property because we went somewhere we couldn't on the second contact with us? and on top of that threaten to call the police even? she seemed to be acting the same way with everyone else she talked to, although I couldn't confirm that. to me it seemed like she was on some sort of power trip. this was my first and last time going there. I refuse to recommend anyone go there because of the security you have who is completely unreasonable...

I've heard so many great things about the Young Loving Lavender Farm & was HIGHLY disappointed. Prior to heading to the YLLF I called to see when the Lavendar Field was at peak season so I could bring my dog to snap a few pictures in the field. There It was NEVER mentioned during my conversation over the phone about a reservation needed along w/ a $75 fee. I was informed to not come down to the field until after June 25th. I came down to the farm on July 22nd & was informed by the young lady in the store that there's a $75 fee yet it was never mentioned that I needed a reservation. I did inform the young lady that I'm not a photographer and I just wanted to snap a few pics with my phone. She did recommend that I can take some pictures from the side of the road. Honestly I was just flabbergasted over the whole experience & just outright disappointed. When I walked across the street I saw nothing more then what appeared as half dead wild purple bushes. I can honestly say I do not recommend waisting your time as I did making approximate 70 mile adventure from SLC & especially your money for taking just a few pics in the lavender field . This is NOT what I had expected or imagined whatsoever. The shop is nice if you're into the oils. I canNOT recommend this place at all to visit again unless you’re into...

This is an interesting place. It literally has a bit of everything. An old West village, a medieval village, a windmill, show horses and a medieval style arena, lavender fields, buffalos, ponies, paddle boats, lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream. You can also tour the distillery that makes the essential oils but I didn't. I called the gardens 5 times and they did not answer. Ever. When I got to the gardens, the ice cream was sold out so I can't tell you how that is, but the receptionists didn't seem to know what to do with me. I offered to pay for a tour of the gardens or to pick my own lavender, but they just didn't seemed to care. We finally just literally wandered around the propery, poking into everything. We watched the dressage horses practicing, examined the newborn colts and played in the covered wagon. Then we climbed around inside the medieval arena where we saw jousting equipment. Some of the people we saw waved but most just ignored us. It is an odd place, but the children loved it (and can easily recognize lavender now). They even liked the lavender lemonade, which was oddly thirst quenching. I'm not sure if I would go back or not. It is a strange place to digest.

I've been to the farms several times: Lavender Days, the annual Essential Oils for Animal Conference, and a few of the Draft Horse shows. I love being in such a peaceful atmosphere with nice people. The horses are all happy and well taken care of. I love the shows, how well-kept everything is, and seeing all the animals be so happy! The jousting is something special also! They do the rodeo, dancing fresians, carriage rides, pony rides, the petting zoo (foxes, camels, sheep, bunnies, ducks, pigs, turtles, etc), and so much else! Highly recommend you go to the farm at least once! Western shootout is a fun event for the kids. Dogs are allowed on leash, which is also great! I'm sure if people continue to pick up after their dogs, this will always be the case! EDIT: If you want to attend events, there is always a small cost. They have a cute little cafe where you can buy Ninxia Red slushies or special essential oil ice cream. The food that is cooked during special events has always been wonderful!
