A nice side trip to the museum with friendly volunteer welcoming us and ready to answer any questions. 2 rooms of cars from bygone eras brings back memories of old movies, and decades of changes. You could imagine yourself in a classic car cruising route 66 in its prime.
Nice photo ops with each car having a stand with a description of the vehicle. Museums like this owe debt to the dedicated owners who collected and restored these icons to their showcase conditions. Gas pumps and other symbols of the old days including many photos help piece together the life and times of Route 66.
A nice attraction, give yourself an hour. take pics, and enjoy the gift shop and step into the vault in the store. Then what better than finishing our weekend road trip by staying on route 66 all the way to Oklahoma City
Stunning collection of vintage American, and some International, cars with R66 and other auto memorabilia. Many places on 66 have seen better days. This is bright, modern and clean! Gift shop and restrooms.
This is another of the many car museums located along the old route 66. None of the others have a 66 foot tall gas pump outside. Inside are a number of different era cars with a large concentration of 60s and 70s. In recognition of the site originally being an Armory, there are a few Army vehicles. It located just off of route 66 and is easily seen. The admission is $6.50 and they are...
Β Β Β Read moreThis was a really nice Museum. The cars and other things all seem to be in close to new/restored condition. It was like going down memory lane with some of them. I'm not a fan of electric cars. But they actually had an GM EV1. I don't think I've ever seen one in person before. If I have, I don't remember it. And since they were supposedly all destroyed (except for the one Francis Ford Coppola has), this was a surprise. I loved a lot of the cars and such. Some of my favorites were the series I XKE, the Messerschmitt and even the old Honda Interceptor. Such a great collection of quality vehicles. I only wish we had more time to spend there. I feel like we ran through and ran out because of time restraints. Anyway, this is definitely a stop worth making if you have an interest in automobiles and such. Thank you to the volunteers who make that museum possible. And especially to the folks who loan their vehicles to the museum. Just a nice place...
Β Β Β Read moreKinda disappointed I hadnβt visited it sooner or when I had family in from out of town. I have driven by this giant gas pump hundreds of times and at first wondered what it was. Found out it was a museum for Route 66 and was interested but never made the time. They had a free entry day on Saturday and I had my kids so the stars aligned and we went to check it out. Our budget is always very limited so the free really help me personally. There was seven of us that went. I was not disappointed in the least. Some truly amazing pieces of history and better times were on display. They had a fun scavenger hunt for the kids to do and help keep them engaged and entertained. Iβm not from Sapulpa but have lived here for ten plus years. I already love this town and this was one more feather in this towns cap. Totally...
