We planned a wedding, site unseen, all done online, to take place here in July 2017. It was the best decision we could have made!
The Ravines Golf Club was the most beautiful wedding ceremony and reception venue! It was out of a dream! The location was perfect, the room was gorgeously appointed, and the view from the reception room was idyllic for our evening reception! We got married on a rainy weekend (it had been torrentially raining the whole week leading up to the wedding), with an outdoor evening wedding on the gorgeous grounds of the golf club. Somehow, the rain broke for a few hours to give us the most perfect wedding ceremony! The ceremony site is set amidst bushes of fragrant flowers, with perfectly manicured lawns, and within a very short walking distance from the club house/reception hall. The bride and wedding party entered across a wooden bridge that goes through the trees: a scene out of a fairytale and so calming as you walk towards the altar!
Mallory and her staff handled the event with ease and grace! Many things went wrong on my end the two days leading up to the wedding, but they were flexible, communicative, and SO GREAT! They set up the ceremony and the reception according to my instructions, but honestly 10 times better than I could even have hoped! They used their expertise in the industry to build on my instructions and truly create works of art on the table, in the decor, on the alter, and everywhere I looked! I trusted their knowledge and experience (and had no choice because I didnt have time to go over everything!) and everyone was raving about it! Everywhere I looked I was shocked and in love! Everything was picture perfect, and truly my dream wedding!
The food was delicious, the staff was attentive, the bar staff was friendly, and everything was WONDERFUL! I cannot say enough about Mallory: she communicated with me regularly leading up to the event: she guided me in decisions when I needed it, and listened when I had ideas or hopes or things I wanted done a specific way. She is a WEALTH of knowledge on weddings, receptions, and ceremonies, as well as families and all the other fun details. I could not have done this without her and her team: she is TRULY AMAZING! Any bride would be lucky to have her expertise; I was well taken care of in her hands.
Thank you so much to the whole Ravines Golf Club, and Mallory, for making my dream wedding...
Read moreI will preface this review by saying the course itself was spectacular and very well-groomed. I am giving this three stars because my friend and I both felt the customer service aspect and overall experience was lacking. We are fairly average golfers and took the day off work to go out and have an enjoyable, laid back round of golf. The Ravines came highly recommended by several other friends and acquaintances of ours familiar with golf courses in the immediate area. However, we felt rushed and unwelcome almost from the moment we parked the car and got out — and we are somewhat used to all the little quirks of country clubs and high end golf courses but this one just felt different. Tee times were stacked on top of one another very tightly, and even when we were paired with another group to make a foursome, we were routinely waiting on the group in front of us while also being constantly rushed from behind (from both the course marshall and groups behind us). The golf carts had some nice features but it sometimes became obnoxious even when following the 90-degree rule and being away from the cart paths (even when staying off the fairway as and driving through the rough when possible). Everything about our experience felt like we were in a constant state of following the rules. It was just not the relaxing round we hoped it would be. As I said in the beginning, the course was fantastic and played very fair, but we will likely not return again because of the stuffy (almost elitist) feeling we got...
Read moreMixed review here. The course and conditions were a 5 out of 5. It was the experience besides the course on why I couldn’t give this a 5 star.
To start off, I went to the bar to get some drinking water before the round. The bartender gave me water from the faucet, a lady comes in after me and got water from the bar gun. Not sure if there’s a difference or not, but you definitely do not want to see your water jug being filled from the same place they wash their hands in.
Next thing: We’re heading to the clubhouse after 9 to get some drinks from the bar, turns out there’s a wedding and the bar is closed. We could only get drinks from the beverage cart. My buddy saw her at the clubhouse restocking, he asked if he can purchase some drinks and she told him no. We took off to the back 9 in hopes to see her come around, we did not see her until hole 17-18. Mind you holes 12-14 the beverage cart does not go to those holes because of how steep the paths are.
This review is not against the course, I would recommend the course to everyone who’s thinking of golfing there. Beautiful, challenging, and in great conditions. We are from out of state and there for my brother’s bachelor party golf trip. Wish that we didn’t have those negative interactions or else it would’ve been a perfect...
