Put MADISON SEMINARY on your 2019 LIST OF THINGS TO DO. My husband and I visited this location in May 2018 for MadCon1 and to be part of the Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser. Fellow after-life and history enthusiasts, we were also interested in the location's rich history and "stories." I mean a famous spy lived there! (Elizabeth Stiles, President Lincoln's spy). We were also interested in meeting Michelle Belanger (renowned psychic), and Chad Lindburg (Ghost Stalkers). Honestly, we'd no idea Chad was in films! What a treat that Lindsey Senter was also there AND THE SHAY DANIELS BAND! The location, at the time, was in early stages of renovation and the time and dedication are apparent. Adam and Rebecca are such good people, folks are practically "falling over themselves," to work for them and their list of joyfully productive volunteers is exhaustive. I hope they made good friends with their neighbors at The Lost Pearl. A collaboration between these two establishments could prove quite fruitful for all concerned. Madison is not for the faint of heart. It's full of a lot of interesting history and SPIRITS! I heard one - with a very good sense of humor - clearly state, "Look what we have to deal with." Hilarious! They were also very happy to say, "GOOD BYE," when prompted by Adam Kimmel for whom they report having great respect and affinity. Add MADISON SEMINARY to your LIST OF THINGS...
Read moreOur visit to Madison Seminary started out with a simple desire to meet some of the folks we've watched on television - namely Michelle Belanger and Chad Lindberg. My interest in the paranormal began as a child, nearly 5 decades ago, when I first discovered Ed and Lorraine Warren (Highlights Magazine in Dr. Redner's office in Flatbush, New York). After having three near death experiences, and discovering some abilities as an Energy Worker/Empath, I've developed an affinity for "things that go bump in the night." That being said, the decision to include Madison Seminary in our "pilgrimage," to visit maternal aunts and cousins in New England, was a "no brainer." We, literally, allowed spirit to guide us and, in exchange for our trust, ended up staying at THE BEST BED & BREAKFAST IN THE AREA, THE LOST PEARL, and meeting some of THE BEST HUMANS on this planet. We also had the pleasure of helping to raise $$$$ for an exceptional young man and his family battling Cystic Fibrosis. Madison Seminary is more than just an intensely charged paranormal site, it is an entire American History lesson! Our visit was completely enchanted, we stayed at, The Lost Pearl, a nearby bed and breakfast. I, for one, am relieved Adam and Rebecca will be acting caretakers/guardians for Madison. If you have a chance to visit this amazing campus, do so and give...
Read moreLet me start by saying the staff is absolutely fantastic. The lobby is nice and the snacks for sale are priced REALLY fairly.
But you came here for the seminary though! And that part... sucks. About 25% of the rooms are closed off. It's full of thrift store decorations. Things from the 80s 90s and later. Silly baby dolls and bad Halloween props. A random fairly new coffin on top of a mattress in one of the bedrooms.
I feel the description of what you THINK you're going to get, versus what you ACTUALLY are walking into are totally different. The haphazardly placed decorations that are not even remotely period correct really ruin the experience. I feel the advertising is just quite different than what you end up walking into.
All the other guests on the flashlight tour was VERY nice and polite, and like I mentioned the staff was too! It's just too many cheesy cheap decorations that take away from the experience in every...
