This is such a nice beach! It has a very flat incline which makes a Great Beach for taking a stroll. Today when I visited, It was rather foggy . There were some people digging for clams at the oceans edge.

I saw a bicyclist with big fat narley tires, racing up and down its long shore line.

There was a woman who wrote 2022 in the sand with her hands, and was placing sand dollars all around it.

If you look at a few of my photo's, You might see little sand mounds at the shore line.

That is where clambs were blowing bubbles up through the sand, so that they can breath.

Clammers look for bubbles coming up from under the sand, and with a small clam shovel, they go hunting for the delicious mussels.

During the winter, there are no facilities open at Ferry Beach.

Handicap ♿ Parking at the head of the beach ⛱

There are Doggy Bag stations at the entrance of the Beach. Please be considerate and grab one for your...

Ferry Beach in Scarborough, Maine, is truly one of the best kid-friendly beaches I’ve ever been to. We went during low tide, which made it extra special. The water pulls back enough that you can walk far out across sandbars, making it perfect for young kids to explore safely. We spent a long time discovering little tidal pools full of hermit crabs, crayfish, and even lobsters—it was a total adventure!

The beach is clean, scenic, and incredibly family-friendly. Whether you're coming with toddlers or older kids, there's plenty to do and see.

Parking is $20 for everyone, regardless of when you arrive or where you're from—but honestly, it's worth every penny for the experience. If you’re looking for a safe, beautiful, and fun beach day with the family, Ferry Beach should be at the top...

Ferry Beach is a great option for bringing the family to the ocean for some swimming, playing in the sand, or basking in the sun. It may not be as large as Higgins Beach or Pine Point, but is easily accessible and very enjoyable overall. At absolute high tide there is not a ton of beach to stand on, so things can get a little crowded. Parking can be difficult during peak times, with a long line stretching...

There are hermit crabs, sand 🦀 and a handful of other creatures during low tide. The water is clear, almost. It is absolutely beautiful. There is fishing. A bathroom and outdoor showers. The cost per vehicle is $5 before 8:45am $15 anytime after. Low tide is great for the kids! WATCH OUT when low tide turns to high the currents are strong. Can be seriously dangerous. This is a great spot! Kids give it a 👍🏽👍🏽

We love this place, we walk here so often. Like most good beaches plan your trip around low tide, when first entering the beach if you walk to the left after you round the corner at low tide you will find so many Moonshell‘s. They are magical! If you go to the right keep going until you’re in the salt flats, explore and enjoy the tidal zone. It’s worth it.
