Awful customer service! I will NEVER return! The whole family stopped here to get all of the surf for our Surf and Turf supper that night. We all went in and began ordering. There was about 8 of us with 1 lady behind the fish counter. She took the first couples order, and then turned to me. I asked “do you have any little necks?” This is where I was read the riot act! Never in my life, had anyone ever spoke to me the way that this mean awful person did! She ripped me a new one right in front of everyone! She said “this isn’t New York! This isn’t New Jersey! This isn’t Massachusetts! This is Maine! We don’t do little necks here.... we do steamers! “ I was shocked! I walked away choosing not to scream at her in the middle of the store. So, while fuming... I waited in line to order. She gets to me and I order 2lbs salmon, stuffed crabs.... then I go to order 2 lobsters... and she said I had to wait in the back of the line again! (At this point, there is about 20 people in line behind me! ) absolutely not! I took my salmon and stuffed crabs.... paid and got out of that awful awful place! I bought my lobsters down the road from a much nicer person for...
Read moreI stumbled into a farm store last weekend that has seafood & farm-fresh veggies. I returned this weekend and noticed a display that I had not seen on my first visit. I do not know how I missed it the first time, that comes with the privilege of terms not being targeted at me. Despite it being over 20 years since the name change for the Scarborough High School, the store is proudly selling shirts and hoodies with a derogatory term for Indigenous People. They have an article posted in the store to defend their stance. With all the controversy they have experienced over it, they clearly know they are cherry-picking defenses for a clearly offensive term. The owner is quoted as saying there is nothing negative about it. There are many missing and murdered Indigenous women in this country. There are endless violations of rights for Indigenous People in the United States. If this store owner is so adamant he is showing respect, he can start by removing the shirts and raising awareness and funds. I did not buy anything at his farm store in Scarborough, I donated to the Partnership With Native...
Read moreBelieve it or not, Flaherty's Farm has become my go to place when I want lobsters or steamers or mussels. I noticed that their lobsters are generally more lively than some other places I have been to. They have different sizes and of course prices too. If you haven't had their corn, you have to try it. They grow it right there and I have to say that it's one of the sweetest corn we have ever had. They have a great selection of fresh vegetables during the summer and they also sell Christmas Trees and other holiday related items around Thanksgiving. Now, why a 4 star? The 4 star has to do with one of the clerks (unknowingly? ) tried to sell me dead lobsters last time we stopped by. I think she was new and did not know you can't sell dead lobsters. I had to bring it to her attention and asked her for new, more lively, ones. She did so without...
