윈슬로 호머 스튜디오(Winslow Homer Studio)는 1884년에 메인 주의 건축가 존 칼빈 스티븐스(John Calvin Stevens)에 의해 기존의 마차 창고를 개조하여 세워졌습니다. 그후 호머의 예술적 필요에 맞게 확장되었습니다. 스튜디오의 가장 눈에 띄는 특징 중 하나는 발코니로, 호머가 겨울에 자주 그림을 그리던 장소입니다. 제가 느끼기에, 호머는 바다의 파도를 가장 잘 그리는 화가로 보입니다. 바다와 그 파도는 인생의 온갖 상황을 전부 담고 있다고 여겨집니다. 참고로, 온라인으로는 예약이 잘 안되어, (제가 에약 방법을 잘 몰라서도 이유였겠지요.) Portland Museum of Art 매표소에서 3일전에 미리 예약했고, 그후 투어에 함께 했습니다.
