This place was stunning. We came here with our pup in the third week of October. We took the nature trail around which eventually brings you to an amazing natural beach. We learned you can also short cut that and go directly past the nature center to the beach if you don’t want OT do that longer loop. The 1st day we came here it was a calm sunny day. We ended up coming back on one of our last days bc the weather was moodier and I wanted to see the waves which did not disappoint. I would come back here every chance I get. We were there on a rainy Tuesday, and they let us know they do more activities planned on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Read moreWe discovered this area before it was called Sugarloaf Cove. Beautiful spot to enjoy the rocky shoreline of Lake Superior. They seem to want to hide the history of this land which is too bad. The cove was used to store logs and float across to Ashland, WI to process. It shows the way nature can return the land back to the way it was without the need for humans.
