lol! I’m going to leave an extremely honest review. First of all. Everyone that knows about silver Mountain winery knows that you go for the wine and not the aesthetics. Some people really enjoy that lack of pretension when First being introduced to wine. Out of all the different vineyards I’ve tasted at throughout the Santa Cruz mountains. I found their wine, consistent, and excellent. If you’re sensitive person? Be prepared. And don’t take him personally. I would say the owner is kind of the soup Nazi of wine tasting. Lol if you remember the old Seinfeld character. You know when you’re flying and you have those older stewardess that have just aged out, and are extremely unhappy, but just don’t wanna quit. But instead project there years of abuse and trauma or cantankerous nature onto the public? Well, that’s kind of him. He has nothing to prove, and he can’t be fir, and he pretty much says and does what he wants to. Lol. And good for him. i’m just warning you if you need to be mollycoddled or you think this is going to be like Napa? Give that idea up before you go. take yourself a nice picnic basket full of your favorite things and just enjoy the wine....

Staff (owners?) were rude and seemed unprepared for guests arriving (we had a pre-paid reservation but were told we didn’t. Wife had to prove it with email receipt. Parking attendant walked away mumbling something about how she didn’t know how it was possible as she had just checked her computer). No change available at the outside pouring table as the ‘cash box’ hadn’t arrived. Exact amounts or the overage was a ‘tip.’ The wine was substandard, in our opinion. But wine is subjective, so that is just our taste. We listened to a few songs and left....
Read moreThey offer a great great wine, at affordable prices, drinkable now, and with great views. Their Pinots and Bordeaux blends are in par with anything good outthere. You can get 6-8yrs old vintages, so readily aged for drinking now. At least half price vs NapaSonoma, where they sell a 3 yr old Cab. Or you can sample their Chardonnays, of you care for white juice. Views from the top of Santa Cruz mountains go all the way to the ocean. Not to mention Gerold, the proprietor and soul of this place - a truly unique person. We are a member; the only winery we are...
