My husband and I are here visiting the area and this was one of the stops I added for us to see. This is a beautiful spot, especially now in the fall with all of the leaf colors, and we had clear skies in spite of the cold windy weather. Beautiful wildlife! We crossed paths with turkeys, chipmunks, and even a bald eagle. The hike wasn't terrible, the website says 3.5 miles, and it's all paved except for the paths from the parking lot down to the main walking path. Bring your camera, there will be many photo opportunities. If you're in Scranton like we are to do a "The Office" visit, don't expect to see what you saw on the show, or to be able to get too close to the water. (Which is fine, and you will still enjoy the peace and views). There are a couple of spots where you can walk to to be closest to the water, and sit and just enjoy the peace. Its absolutely worth the visit and so beautiful!

A well maintained trail around the Lake which runs close to four miles. I accessed the trail from the Scranton Estates and parked at the local fire hall. I hiked the trail on a weekend and there was heavy traffic. Seems to be a favorite of the local population. Trail is relatively easy and paved overall with some dirt path sections. Most of the trail is flat and offers some decent views of the lake. I saw relatively little wild life, but trail was heavily traversed at the time. The back side of the lake has a incline which is nice, but short. Overall a good hike/walking trail and would definitely recommend it. I will return soon.

Through the years, this has been commonplace for exercise, community, and serenity. There has never been a bad day on this trail... Rain or shine, and even through the icy path, it is always an adventure. I've been caught in the rain, skated through patches of ice, ran it, walked, skipped, and danced through the trail alone or with company. I remember jogging backward and this little kid started mimicking me through the path. It was truly adorable. People mostly always greet you through the trail or I welcome them. πŸ˜† I can't help but bring in that Mexican neighborhood welcome. Even when you are alone, it never feels that way. 😊
