This was once one of the best grocery stores. Fresh baked goods, readily available items, wonderful savings program, great coupons, an excellent selection of brand and store brand products, not to mention they started getting a lot more items! And, of course, stellar customer service. I mean the people here couldn't stop smiling and you'd always feel so shy to take them away to ask a question that's how nice they were. But, things started going downhill about two years ago. The customer service is in the toilet, the coupons have no real savings, the savings program (which employees at this location lied to me about) is fairly useless, and I've witness in real time their price swapping/adjustments. On a Thursday the item will have a base price ($3.99) and a discount price ($2.50) indicating a deal; but the next day, Friday, the same item has a base price of $2.39. Why? To seduce your customers with a deal that's not real? This has put a poor taste in my mouth to where I really don't enjoy shopping here anymore. And with the way the prices are -- whether they are just pretending to save you money or are just plain too expensive -- I may as well go to Wegman's to get higher quality items with the same price and same attitudes. I'm not sure if its because of new management, a new merger, or that the great employees that once worked there quit, but its so unpleasant to walk in this store now as many of the employees (especially one specific cashier) act as though they are too good to work there or that their customers have the audacity to ask questions. It's honestly quite literally exhausting. I've been trying out the other Gerrity's in the area and while their pricing is just as bad, their customer service is at least efficient and bare minimum polite. This location is more convenient for me, but at this point, I'd rather visit other locations or other grocers. It's no...
Read moreMy family has been shopping at Gerritys since before l was born. I shop here atleast once a week. I like that it's more family orientated. The deli and bakery are both excellent. Their prepared foods are delicious. The mashed potatoes literally taste like you made them yourself. Actually all the food tastes home made. I've never gotten a meal there l didn't like. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You can ask the butcher where cake mix is and they'll be able to tell you what isle and exactly where it's located. Unlike other stores when you ask where something is and you get "I'm sorry l don't know this is my 1st time in this department". The store is the perfect size. You won't get lost, your in and out. They also have alot of registers open ALL the time!! I've went in there 15 mins before closing and 3 registers were still open, so your not waiting 20+ mins in line with 10 ppl in front of you and 1 register open! Gerritys is almost like a Monument. Any time I've ever given directions or heard anyone give directions to any place in West side they always start with "Do you know where...
Read moreThis was the most horrible shopping experience of my life today. I had my certified emotional support dog with me while shopping with my family and was approached by a rude manager who told me I wasn't following the law and was too close for my boundaries. She was disrespectful in front of one of my younger children telling me how she's following the law and my dog needs to not be in the cart. He's 7.5 pounds and I can't shop and walk him . I've used the cart for years for him and previously have never been told about this "rule"! I felt hunted down by the manager and like she was trying to intimidate me. I was also asked about my personal information regarding my dog and this is illegal and against HIPPA guidelines. This store crapped on us and the only reason we stayed is because money is tight and we had a gift certificate to help us out. Thanks for treating us like...
