Overall: A cute little RV park, excellent candidate for short stay, especially if you want to kind of feel like you are in the country without actually being in the middle of nowhere.
I don't consider it a resort, simply because resorts I have visited have much more to do, and this is more of a hub type spot to go do things in the surrounding cities.
Pros: • I found the staff here; particularly the manager, to be friendly and exceptional people. The manager genuinely seems to care (which makes a huge difference). • It's new/recently opened, so the facilities are still in rather new condition. • A grab 'n go breakfast is available between 8 and 10 am in the office. • It's pet friendly (though I do not have pets); they have a pet washing station and trails within walking distance. • They have a designated place for people to smoke (I appreciate because I don't have to smell it from my site). • It's within a few miles from shopping/civilization. • Amenities also include a nice outdoor kitchen(grill space), pool and hot tub, laundry room, business center, tv and WiFi service, lifts for wheelchair access, and restroom facilities with showers.
Neutral: • The general expectation is to clean up after yourself, just as you would at a State/National park. You take your own trash to the dumpster, and pick up after your children and pets. • Laundry; only excepts card/phone app payment. The machines hold about five to six standard sized towels (without overloading/to come out clean). All of the machines say $2.25, but expect $4.75 per load to be tied up in your bank account; wash pre-auths $2.50, and dry pre-auths $2.25. You could potentially do a load of laundry, wash and dry, here for as little as $2.50 total after balances are returned. The extra quarter on wash gets you an extra rinse and about 10 minutes more total wait time. The driers give you 40 minutes for 25 cents; which, is actually a pretty outstanding deal (none of my loads needed more than 40 minutes of drying time using perm-press/medium heat and color-whites/high heat). • WiFi; had trouble with the wifi dropping off, but may have gotten connected to a weak channel on the network.
Cons(and concerns): • Not really a family place; there's not much on site for kids. If you can/want to drive around there are several public parks, splash parks, museums, NASA's Johnson Space Center, amusement places (like the Kemah Boardwalk), gardens, wildlife preserve(s), etc. in the area that range from free to pricey. • Cellphone signal was inconsistent to points of frustration here. • It's a bit noisy; lots of road, aircraft, train, and watercraft noise. If you want/need some quiet reflection this probably isn't the spot. • Lifts dont have an analog backup in the event of failures; the buildings are all a level above ground level and only have stairs to access them other than the electronic lifts. • If you don't get an ADA cabin, and choose to use the alternatively available shower (located on the outside of the office building) you might need to bring your own shower seat, or have to take a shower in your chair. • We experienced several problems with fobs/card keys, wifi connectivity, hot water availability during a week long stay; though quickly addressed, I was disappointed by their occurrence considering its 'recently opened' status.
At this time; the manager on staff makes me want to consider this location in the future, but I'm not sure I would choose to stay here again if I had my family with me, or had a member of my party that required ADA...
Read moreFrom the moment I called to make a reservation til i walked in the door this place is incredible. My wife, our daughter and myself came for the night because we lost power at our home due to bad weather yesterday. I have literally watched this place being built because it is on my commute to work at Port Houston five minutes down the road from here. We are so impressed with our cabin. This place is really nice. They definitely went high end on building these cabins. The grounds are beautifully lit up. Parking is well lit and you have two parking spaces for each cabin right below your room. I cannot believe all the bang you get for a really reasonable price. The cabin has a real feel like home kinda vibe. This particular cabin has a full size kitchen, washer/dryer, two flat screen smart tvs, sleeper sofa and a spa like bathroom with an awesome stand up shower. They definitely need to take the word cabin out of describing these cabins. I am recommending this place to everyone. You will not be disappointed. Each cabin is stand alone so you have no one on the other side of the wall. We will probably come back here just for the r&r having a pool and jacuzzi right out the front door. There is also a nice full size grill by the pool. If you get a chance check this place out. Shari at the front desk was really sweet and you can tell she loves her job...
Read moreI had the worst experience at this resort id give ZERO STARS IF I COULD...we had planned on staying 5-6 monts but after the harassment from the property manager "Shanwa", her rude comments towards me, following and watching every move to the point we felt so uncomfortable "which I have picture of her following and circling me", we didn't even want to use the pool or outdoor area bc she was so overbearing the family and I just choose to leave! Then when I checked out later that day instead of a refund for my deposit they charged my account. I called the corporate number listed on the website and "Sherry" was also beyond rude...she explained sometimes when the deposit is reversed it appaears as a charge...however it was a charge not just "appeared to be" and if this happens often, WHY HAVE THEY NOT ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE INSTEAD UPSETTING MORE GUEST...I WORK IN THE HOSPITALITY BUSINESS...I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS RESORT OR ANY OTHER PROPERTY THEY HAVE...THE ONLY PERSON NICE AND KIND WAS THE HOUSEKEEPER WHO DID A FANTASTIC JOB EVERY WEEK AND SWEET AS CAN BE...I HOPE THIS MESSAGE REACHES SOMEONE WHO CAN ADDRESS THEIR EMPLOYEES AND...
