Be sure to check the tides before you attempt to drive on the beach. We went down early in the morning to look for the dead beached whale. The tide was a bit high and the sand was a little soft so I turned around and left. Later on we learned the whale had floated North a ways, so we went to the Peter Irdale ship wreck beach access and the tide was not so high.
