Carkeek Park is old. I know that because it was old when I used to play there. I used to go to day camp at Carkeek and play on the playground there so it’s at least 20 years old. It’s a great playground and park to take your kids to or just to go to if you don’t have kids. There are trails and a beach and a salmon run. There are barbecue pits and covered picnic tables. There are several levels of the park and so there are multiple meadows and other places to sit or play than just the playground. I have always loved Carkeek. My kids love Carkeek. If you are looking for a new park I would recommend checking out Carkeek.

Excellent playground surrounded by hiking trails and near the beach. Soft jazz played in the background as our kids played and we enjoyed a beautiful Saturday in Seattle. There were plenty of picnic tables lined to have a good view of the playground, bathrooms were in good condition and there is a large grassy area the provides lots of room for running. The ice cream truck even made it's rounds nearby. Idealic.

The slide is iconic the grass area large and open few hiking trails and nice view of the water and being on the bridge while the train passes underneath is exhilarating

My kid gotta fish tooth in the bum. You go in the ventrical, out the mouth like fishspit.LOL. thats the only danger besides huge packs of coyotes, roaming and howling, huntinh for cats and lost children. This isnt some little park. Its really a wilderness within the metropolis. The owls are very big, murders of crows may be rooked. Yellowbellied stoats and muskrats compete for there lives, and the orchard trees push sweet fruits for the thirsty traveler. the summer mornings filled with robin songs, and those become the buzz of our locale flying insects morpbing into a blazing red setting sun accompanied by the sounds of childrens laughter. Barbequed ribs, hotdogs and soda pop. The smells of summer......is that a skunk or just some fine locally grown green? Either way, whatever the occation, light or dark this is the park. Stay on the trails dont...

Fun playground for kids who love to climb. The slide goes down from tail to the mouth. Located by the hillside, the surrounding area is a natural climbing playground area for kids. Shaded and across from grassy field so parents can relax on the grass and still keep their kids in their line of sight.

Near shelters and picnic tables, restrooms, multiple trail entrances, and bridge to the beach. Plenty of parking nearby though weekends can be busy.

Highly...
