I think there is something you should know about this facility. The employees are overworked and under paid. The facility is under managed and neglected. I know this because I do.
I have insider information that the employees are being neglected and over extended.
The wild life and plants are being 100% neglected.
There is a BEE HIVE in the aquarium that is riddled with dead bees and BLACK HONEY COMEBS. ITS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE BLACK.....
But Im not surprised.
The executive director of this facility is negligent. This person wants to get paid but literally do nothing; including, providing employee assistance as well as maintaining the facility properly.
This person let a live BEE HIVE in the AQUARIUM GO UNCHECKED FOR 8 MONTHS.
ITS SUPPOSED TO BE CHECKED EVERY 10 DAYS.
The also provided free member ships for DONTATIONS.
Thank you, Have a great day, Don't visit this place. The animals are leaving, The plants are neglected. The employees are being abused. Mentally and verbally. It's disgusting. No matter how good it looks. It's terrible. DO NOT COME TO...
Read moreMy kids 7 and 4 years old and I absolutely loved our day at the Environmental Learning Center. It far exceeded our expectations.
We loved the small aquarium where we learned about marine life and even got to touch hermit crabs and starfish! The seashell collection and chart was impressive! We also loved seeing the seahorses, turtles and seeing some creatures with the microscope display.
We spend a lot of time at the nature play area cooking in the sand kitchen, climbing on the structures and swinging. There is also a mud kitchen by the entrance/store.
Most of all we loved walking the paths and over the wetlands and seeing all of the crabs crawling up the trees.
It was a sunny and warm day but most paths were shaded.
The store sells some snacks and educational books and toys etc.
Great day trip for us and would come back again...
Read moreAMAZING PONTOON BOAT EXPERIENCE!
I am actor working at Riverside Theatre here in Vero Beach and while I was visiting I wanted to experience as many things as possible. So I researched and found this place and I am so glad I did! They were able to organize a boat tour with my fellow co workers and we went out on the boat and saw so many birds and dolphins and learned so much history about the Indian River. The captain and guide were both lovely and informative and made it such a special experience.
The best part of the experience was spending time with these locals who truly love where they are from and their passion is contagious! I would totally recommend this to anyone and everyone! When I come back (I’m manifesting that) I will make sure to...
