Skydive Sebastian — Attraction in Sebastian

What an absolutely incredible first experience tandem skydiving for my son! It all started when he turned 18 and said he'd like to go skydiving. Fast forward many months later and he still hadn't gone. All of my research pointed me to Skydive Sebastian, and I am so glad I chose them!

Their website is very user friendly, and you do all the booking online. You are welcome to call them with any questions or concerns, and everybody that I dealt with had the greatest customer service. I had many questions about the different photo packages available, and I'm really glad that we got one of the best ones!

We actually drove an hour and a half to Sebastian just for this experience because of everything I had read, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. But first things first. You pull up to the airport, and there are signs pointing you all towards Skydive Sebastian. The area had a cute and clean layout, with a couple restrooms available. My son was going up in one of the first flights in the morning, but apparently there's even a little snack bar that may open later. When we arrived, they had all of his information already pulled from the website, and it was just a matter of him signing waivers. A lot of waivers, lol

I was very impressed with the demeanor of all the instructors and staff. Everybody just seemed to be really happy to be there! Which when you're going up for a tandem skydive, is very important!

The plane that my son rode on was great, and apparently they have a few planes available depending on what kind of jumpers they have.

The package I bought my son included the tandem skydive, a hand cam of videos and pictures, And a separate skydiver that jumps out specifically to film him in the air. If you were only going to do this once in your life, I beg you not to skimp on this! My son couldn't be more thrilled with all the pictures and video he got from his jump! They had amazing ocean in inlet views both in the plane and during their jump! Although, I may have just created a monster because now he's already looking for another time to skydive again!

I’ve always wanted to go skydiving, and I was so excited to go, it was a birthday present! We got up early, shows up on time, filled out our forms, and we were told 1hr 30min wait, which was fine. An hour passes and one of our family members comes to watch, and when she found us she told us it was a 2 hour wait. We were shocked, went to ask the check in desk, the ladies were flustered and confirmed it was a 2 hour wait. We ended up getting pushed by 4 hours, the ladies at the desk told me, “It’s on the website, you saw it when you signed up.” Which we most certainly did not, it says you could have a 4 hour pick up time, but that was obscure and we thought it meant pick up from where we landed after the jump.

I felt like our entire day was wasted, if they had been upfront that they were short staffed that day/busy and it would be a 4 hour wait; it would have been fine. However, they kept telling us 1 hour 30 min, an hour, and then 2 hours. We could’ve done something else with our time, and gone down the street for lunch. The operations felt very disorganized, one of the tandem instructors asked my instructor if he was overweight and what’s the latest you pull your reserve. I expressed concerns and they shooed me out of their conversation (mind you I’m strapped to my instructor, watching this other instructor talk over me to ask the question as we’re gaining altitude in the plane) and they told me it was for another jump. I can’t be the only one that thinks it’s poor practice to ask that at 10,000 feet before jumping, even if it’s for another jump.

The manager tried to move us up and offered us free T shirts (marketing?), which I appreciated his efforts, I ended up getting horribly motion sick (from not eating because we thought it was “just” an hour wait) AND they sent my boyfriend his video an hour after I jumped, and I still havent recieved mine, despite both of us upgrading the package.

I understand time delays and motion sickness is a personal thing, but had they been transparent I could’ve had a much better experience. I would not recommend Skydive Sebastian and will likely try tandem skydiving again but elsewhere. Bring snacks and zofran or Bonnie, and ask your instructor not...
