Daum Museum of Contemporary Art — Attraction in Sedalia

Amazing to find such an enlightened selection of modern art in such a small town. If your tastes veer to the Rauschenberg or Warhol then you will enjoy the tastes curated in this public space. It's a small to medium sized space with three accessible floors. So, when you get bored at the State Fair Swine Pavillion, jus pop on over to the Daum and soak in some color halftone dot patterns of Lichtenstein or marvel at the organic lines of the Chihuly. Cute museum inside the college. three floors and one gallery across the way from the rest. It's got a good variety of modern art. One of the galleries was being worked on so we skipped it, but I'll definitely be going back to see it once it's done. Altogether we strolled through for about half an hour. The Daum is a great museum! It sits next to/on the beautiful State Fair Community College campus. Be sure to visit SFCC Gallery also. There is a fantastic exhibition of student artwork. The special exhibitions at the Daum have been outstanding over the years. Their personal collection is diverse. I highly recommend a visit.
