My wife and I and another couple tend to look for wineries to visit while we travel. Many of them have the philosophy that they need to offer the distraction of multiple entertainment options (live music, expensive venue setting, large gift shop, party tent...).
Wildlife Ridge (and I mean this as high praise) doesn't succumb to that philosophy. Granted, they are about as out-of-the-way as you can get, but this was a great stop on our way home from a couples' trip. We hung out for well over an hour. The indoors offered multiple options, was clean, and our hostess was extremely welcoming and friendly. A definite bonus was her friendly dog that came to work with her that day.
I wish this place were a little closer, but we may have to find a reason to stop in during warmer weather (it was below freezing on our visit). The outdoor area offers some nice seating overlooking a secluded little pond. It would be a great way to spend an afternoon or evening enjoying a bottle of one of their surprisingly good wines. It was refreshing to not be expected to be entertained,...

We attempted to do that here, but the person behind the counter kept pushing for us to do a tasting, wish we were not interested in. Sadly, after telling the person at least three times, we were not interested in a tasting, and they kept pushing it we left without getting any wine. The place looks very nice, and they probably have good wines. Why the person at the counter kept pushing the tasting, to the point it was frustrating I will never understand, especially when we told them we just wanted to sit outside and enjoy a bottle...
Read moreI've been to this Winery several times. Its a wonderful setting with a small lake fire pit and outside as well as inside seating. In the summer they have live music--see their website for dates. The main building can accommodate groups up to about 20. They offer the common commercial beers as well as 8 - 10 craft beers. If you are bringing a group and desire a specific beer if you call them a head they can get it for you. Very accommodating and friendly staff. You can sample their wines and buy them by the glass or bottle. Overall a great place to spend...
