Long read As a first-time bride, I was oozing constant stress energy. I did not have a wedding planner, I myself am not an organized or party planning type of person, and I had to figure out all that went into a wedding day very non-traditionally because no one in my immediate family has had a large wedding before me. The first thing on our list to lock down was the venue. I had 3 places in mind, but simply after reviewing their website and FB page, Gooseberry was giving me a feeling that I was looking for. We decided we would set up a visit there first. After touring the venue, meeting the staff, hearing their story, and being treated like a member of their own family with genuine warmth from the first moment, we knew who we were going to have host our special day. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pull off my dream wedding I had envisioned, however the reassurance that I got from Tammy and the staff put me at ease. They were offering not only a venue, but also coordinating services and decorating services. I met with them to discuss what vibe I wanted and which vendors we were using and while I was explaining decor options and set-up options to Liz, it was almost like she was finishing my sentences and reading my mind! Their inventory of decor is a whole buildings worth and they have every style imaginable from elegant, to boho, to country, to you name it! As far as the venue itself, it is STUNNING! Everything for your day is on site: ceremony grounds, reception, full kitchen, full bar (with top-notch bartenders included) bridal suite, grooms suite EVERYTHING. Tammy led our rehearsal the night before and her and the staff decorated for and with me to make sure no major tasks were needing to be done on the morning of wedding day. The next day, I was a ball of nerves, but Tammy and Bailey were literal ANGELS and knew all of the ins-and-outs of navigating the schedule. I did not have to speak to even one vendor (cake, food-caterering, DJ). THEY HANDLED IT ALL. The only thing I had to do that day was get beautified for the ceremony and hang out with my bridal party. When it was time for the ceremony, Tammy and Bailey were right there next to me in one of the biggest moments of my life. They have these gorgeous barn doors at the end which they had closed for me, It was a HOT summer day and Bailey even held my fan while Tammy assured that my veil was aligned. I was filled with the excitement butterflies and I was also emotional because my father was not able to be present to walk me down the aisle, however I did not feel alone because these two ladies took those last calming breaths with me and I will never forget how deep that resonated in that moment and still does. After the ceremony, they were keeping the reception running smooth and checked in with me often to see if I needed anything. We all had an amazing time and I truly owe it all to Gooseberry. They even presented my husband and I with an unexpected bottle of wine with our picture on it as a gift and some personalized wine glasses! I would 100% recommend them for any bride and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to create those memories of an unforgettable day. What an experience all around, thank you Tammy and...
Read moreI cannot recommend Gooseberry Creek & their staff enough! Tammy and Liz are absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect. They answered all of my questions and made me and constantly made me feel as ease. Our day was a little iffy, we had major tornado warnings and our ceremony was supposed to be outside - we LOVED the open air chapel. The storm was supposed to be at it's worst right at ceremony time but Tammy and Liz assured me that they had plans in place for every situation and they didn't disappoint. We had decided that with the weather, our best option would be to move the ceremony inside, so Tammy and Liz tore down the reception set up and changed it to ceremony set up. But, in typical Kansas fashion, 45 minutes before the ceremony started, the weather completely cleared up. Tammy came and talked to me and said she knew my dream wedding was in that chapel, so if I gave her the word she would pick up the indoor and move everything out to the chapel - and that's exactly what she did! They very quickly set up the chapel, and changed the indoor space back to a reception set up. We had the most beautiful ceremony in the chapel and then our reception inside. Tammy and Liz are both SO knowledgeable, kind, and hard working. They will really do anything to give you the wedding of your dreams. I would recommend them...
Read moreDon't let the idea that this is a wedding venue in the small town of Sedgwick deceive you: we had the most FANTASTIC experience holding our youngest daughter's wedding here a few weeks ago. We had about 130 people and Tammy and her crew worked with us so well to make this special day everything we expected. Both the ceremony and the reception were held here. We had a lot of family traveling from out of state; Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, etc. Some of them told us that this was absolutely the BEST wedding and reception they'd ever been to, and they've been to a LOT of weddings! We received nothing but wonderful compliments about the venue and the staff from many of our guests. I recommend getting the full package if at all possible, if you are planning a wedding and reception of any real size. I truly can't say enough good about our experience here; from the first meeting, to the booking process, the lead up to the week of, the rehearsal, the set up, and especially the execution of the event itself. We could not have asked for a better experience. Highly...
