Be prepared for some serious hiking once you get to the trailhead of devil's bridge. While you can take your 4x4 up to the beginning of the trail, some people walk to it which adds another mile and a half or so. The offroading was fun, easy in difficulty; However, the road is very narrow. So just look out for other vehiclesFrom the head trail you will be hiking about 0.8 miles in order to reach the top. Take water, sunblock, and a light load if any. There are some parts of the hiking where you will be almost climbing vertically. But don't let it be a deterrent to you. I am not an avid hiker or climber. In addition we had our 4 year old with us (it made it a little more challenging) and we did just fine. It is not packed with people either which is always good. The first 10 minutes of the hike consisted of flat land with a slide incline. But it gets more difficult and steep very quickly after that. Be careful with the rocks. They can be slippery, specially on the way down. I fell. Nothing serious though. Once you get to the top, the view is just amazing. Totally worth...
Read moreGreat Hike and beautiful views! Visited during spring break and it was super crowded. Reading various reviews we went there around 1 pm assuming it will be less crowded. The overflow parking lot was full and we had to circle for 20 mins to park. The hike was great and the difficulty level increases towards the last 25% of the distance and the last 5% hike being very steep climb. There was a big queue to take pics on the bridge, which was allowed only for 2 person at a time. We skipped the line and went to the front and took few pics from bit far as the wait time to take pic on the bridge was more than 1 hour! If you want to reduce the total distance a bit then checkout the map at the site and take the dry creek road path. If you have a four wheel drive or rent an ATV then you can cut down your hiking distance by more than 50% as you can drive down the dry creek road and park at a place closer to the devil’s bridge. Will visit again for a pic...
Read moreGreat trail with a great view at the top. If you do not have a high clearance vehicle, you must park before the large boulder in the parking lot. You need to walk about a mile or so to get to the trail. It is a rocky dirt road so I suggest wearing hiking shoes or sneakers. If you have a high clearance vehicle, you can park at the trailhead but it is a small parking lot. The climb goes up vertically & stair like scrambling up to the top but it is not too difficult. It can get crowded ending up with people climbing up and down at the same time. There is a line to go onto the bridge itself but line can get pretty long. A shorter hike compared to other hikes in Sedona. Just to prepared to wait to go onto the bridge. I suggest someone stay behind and take a photo across the way to capture the person on the bridge. ...
