Nolte Island Recreation Area — Attraction in Seguin

I attended a private weekend camping event here in the late winter of 2012. The area is very nice, and appears to be an old pecan orchard. I imagine in the summer it will have lots of good shade. Do be careful of the many fallen twigs and larger branches - I spent my first half hour on site piling them up near the fence so no one would trip over them at night. It was a beautiful area set between the Guadalupe river and a small body of water. We went camping with the Boy Scouts and there are two covered pavilions with restrooms avaliable. There's wonderful old pecan trees to provide shade and areas to have bbq pits and campfires. My only complaint is that the area is very difficult to find and the signage is small.
