Ginkgo Forest Winery — Attraction in Selah

Disappointing. I have been a member of the tacoma tasting room for around 10 years and it used to be my favorite winery. I had my first opportunity to visit the mattawa tasting room today and was really looking forward to it.  This was the second winery we visited today.  The tasting fee was $15, even for members, and the pours were around a half inch in the smallest wine glasses you can get. I had to ask several times for the pourer to pour more so i could actually taste the wine. The atmosphere wasn't nearly as welcoming as the winery we had just left and did not have that "stay and visit a while" friendly vibe i was expecting.  I felt really embarrassed that i had recommended it so highly to my group.

They have had a lot of trouble over the last couple of years staffing the tacoma tasting room and i have stopped by many times during normal hours only to find it closed.  Time to re-think this wine club membership...

Update based on response from Ginkgo I said that I was a member when I walked into the tasting room in Mattawa on May 20, 2023, I did not provide them with my name and they did not look me up in your system before telling me that the tasting fee applied to members. The woman that was manning the tasting room was new so she went and double checked with the blond woman that works there who told me unequivocally that the tasting fee applied to members at both of your tasting rooms.

I did my last official wine pick-up from your Tacoma tasting room on Jun 28, 2022 (1 year ago, not 4). I haven’t received a notice since then to do another pick-up. Every time I visit your tasting room I tell them I am a member and when they look me up in your system no one has said that my membership wasn’t in good standing or that I have missed any wine pickups. I was last at the Tacoma tasting room on April 25, 2023 where the woman manning the counter looked me up in the system, charged my card for the wine I bought that day (not a wine pick-up) and did not say that I wasn’t a member (I told her I was) or that I had missed any...

The owner was there and spent about an hour showing us around and talking to us about the different wines they make. He was very nice and the wines we tasted were fantastic. We ended up buying a few bottles to take home. I liked the Cabernet...
