Whoever takes care of Graysmarsh Berry crops, fortifies the soil, plants and takes care of growing these berries should be rewarded, given thanks and our appreciations. Please pass this on. I have been up to this farm 4-5 times now just this summerโฆlost count to be honest, every weekend I come with family and friends for different berries. Today we came back from picking the most amazing blueberries.
I canโt describe how much we appreciate your hard work and if I lived in town and not Poulsbo, Iโd be volunteering daily and picking for you guys just for relax.
Clusters upon clusters of amazing berriesโฆplace a bucket under the bush, tug gently cupping your hands and goodness falls into your palms.
I encourage everyone to get the biggest gal buckets (10 gallons) when they arrive and freeze berries for the winter months: smoothies, sauces, jams, baking, ice cream toppers, add to cereal, cottage cheese or eat alone. 2, 10 gallons of blackberries, for 2 people drinking a smoothie once a week from oct-April.
You canโt get this quality of organic berries in stores, commercial farming uses pesticides you don't want to consume and those that are organic ripen fruit artificially for transport. The flavor will never be the same.
I hate to see pounds of fruit wasting on the ground too. Please pick what drops, wish the farm had fruit catching nets underneath each bush, way too many that fall and people don't pick up.
This organic farm is massive in size, everyone reading this review should bring friends and family. Head to #FinnRiver cidery after for #pizza and make an adventure day out of it like we always do.
The more you pick, the more these bushes will give. Thank you so much Graysmarsh team for helping us make great memories, for fresh healthy,...
ย ย ย Read moreSome of the reviews I've read here are nothing short of ridiculous. Farming unto itself is extremely difficult Irregardless of what type of farming it may be. An infinite amount of factors go into farming and even under the best circumstances, there's never a guarantee that things will come out the way you hope for. But then on top of that, if you operate a farm which later is supposed to personally serve the public, the difficulties then become 10 fold. It's sad when people, who for a multitude of reasons, that suffer insecurities then have to pass them onto others or even businesses. They opened the gates 10 minutes late! The gates were left open so when we went in, we found they were closed! This staff or that staff were rude So because they were having a off day, they decide to pass their feelings on to a business or whatever Graymarsh provides some of the best hand picked berries there are. They also provide a friendly enviroment for both yourself and/or family to enjoy the time together. So give credit where credit is due and go there with the expectations of having some good family time and leave the nit picking reviews...
ย ย ย Read moreGood variety. Fresh and lush. VERY expensive, you can get better deals even in town, even organic, even local organic. But it is there, it it rather entertaining. At least for one time experience. They CHARGE FOR BOXES, they count it's weight, as berries. On a separate note: we did wonder away, entered from a different entrance (same asphalt road, designated same way on GPS; only later found barely noticeable dull antique "private" in shade of bushes, not a road sign); a gun has been pointed at us, with a child and TINY puppy. Spent several minutes at gunpoint, awaiting "arrival of sheriffs" (never happened). We were let go, we were trespassing (although unwillingly). They were withing their rights, but we will stick with easier going people, thank you...
