I placed my order yesterday, June 20, in the Ashburn store and asked if I could pick up in Cordele. I was told I could, but to make sure I picked up after 10:00am. I went over my order again before I got off the phone. I get to Cordele today, June 22, around 11:40. I was told my name was not on their list. Erin who works in the Cordele office told me Ashburn does not take into consideration the list that Cordele has. So needless to say , I came away with nothing due to someone's neglect to communicate properly within a business. So instead of spending 168.00 plus tax I spent $24.00 in fuel to make a dry run. No, I'm not happy. My family farms and I know what is involved in communicating properly to individuals and what the daily operation of a farm is. After talking with Shelia in the Ashburn office this matter was not resolved. She wanted me to wait for their truck to come back to Ashburn then once it was loaded again they would send it back to Cordele. I only came to Cordele for my order and I had one other errand that would not take me 15 min. to do. My time is valuable and I was not going to wait for two hours at the farmers market using more unnecessary fuel. So, if you place and order, I hope you get what you are promised to receive. I've talked with another individual and basically the same thing has happened to her. Sad times we are living in. Hope you get better in communicating and fill people's...
Read moreThis place is what happiness is made out of! Forget Disney world- would choose this place anyway! The employees obviously love their job, I'm rarely at places where the employees are so ready to chat with you and get you what you need. I love how passionate the farm workers seem to be for the property - I absolutely LOVE the way the Saturday hayride tour guide helped children (and adults!) find beauty and joy in the 'little thing's (feeding the fish, seeing the baby horse with her mom, watching the heron waiting for the fish etc) I LOVED the creativity on the farm, you can tell the owners love this place and want to make it wonderful- its not just a run of the mill. The John Deere Harvestor/Tractor made into a PLAYGROUND?? um that is what dreams are made of! (I often plan in my head how I want to take a small old aircraft and use it as the base for a new backyard playground!) The strawberries are delicious, and the price is reasonable! The additional produce is local and in season- I picked up whole onions with the greens for only 1.49/lb and they smelled amazing, and the bell peppers were beautiful and homegrown and were .75/each. I cannot wait to come back! And if you are timid about paying the $12/person Saturday entry - it is...
Read moreJust a warning before you go onow what you are paying!! I don't normally make a point to leave reviews, however this time is an exception. I was there on a field trip for my Grandsonand I had his younger brother with me. I was figuring 1 adult charge of $12.00 and my other Grandson would be covered under the adult pay. Not only did that not happen, but charged another $12.00 for a 3 year old. They have 2 years and under free and no child charge amount. The Calhoun produce is not worth $24.00 to try to be a proactive Grandparent. If they offered something more than a short pumpkin growth information, short corn maze, tractor ride around to see alligator, sheep, mini horses, Buffalo, long horn cows for less then 5 minutes each feed stop. Then a 10 minute pig race. The rest is glorified playgrounds. No hands on with animals. The prices are too high I paid almost $10.00 for a plain ham and cheese sandwich, lays potato chips and a 20 oz Pepsi. The gift shop is too high prices bought a couple of plastic alligator grabbers, 2 rubber frogs, 2 sour candies and raw honey $93.00. The staff is not friendly or excited with their presentations was very dissatisfied and disappointed with the whole visit to...
