10/4/25 ~ The leaves are starting to turn and the persimmons are dropping! 🍁 8/2/2025 ~ One of our regular visits. It really pays to visit year round because it changes every day. Today we were able to see the new dock on Lake Linda. Very nice and also handicap accessible. Lots of flowers, dragonflies, and even a copper belly watersnake. We did encounter a LOT of mosquitoes at the Myers Cabin, but other than that it was a great visit! 🌺 Awesome place with plenty of trails to revisit. Make sure the nature center is open when you go ~ the employees are friendly and very informative! Finished a two-year quest to get to the Meyer Cemetery! (We've tried various routes.) It isn't a terribly long hike, but we have always visited later in the year and were turned back by the invasive multiflora roses. We have seriously talked about taking some battery-powered hedge trimmers with us. Another month or so, and we would not have been able to get to it again ~ the roses are already growing into the path. It would be a great idea just to have a mown path from the Meyers Cabin to the cemetery. It needs a lot of work, but I'm sure not being able to get to it is a huge factor in that! 5/17/25 - Everything has definitely grown and greened up since we were here for Donna's retirement on 5/3. Also, be careful of the nearby unmarked, uncovered well. The little orange flag has disintegrated. (The 4 star rating is due to the roses ~ the rest of the park has great areas and is well maintained!)

WOW. This place is amazing, it was my first time going but I will definitely return. I saw other people while driving, but never ran into anyone while on the trails; a lovely quiet place to hike and enjoy nature. Lots of parking at the various easy access trails. Several of the trails I took were paved. There's a lot of great educational/informational/helpful signage. I saw so many mushrooms everywhere, it was really cool. Many were even right on the trails growing up under our feet. 🍄. I saw a snake 🐍 on a log in the water which was super cool. Lots of benches on the trails I went on. Saw and heard lots of birds. Heard lots of frogs and their splashes jumping in the water. I forgot bugspray, don't forget yours 🦟.

The four seasons have brought us to winter. Cold winds are blowing. Two weeks ago, I was walking on this same path and heard the birds singing and saw the beautiful maple leaves. Today, walking on the same path again, the maple leaves are under my feet. I'm breathing in the fresh air and looking forward to spring next year.

A forest like many other. Only walked the 1/2 mile loop near the nature center and the bugs were annoying. It is a marshy area which is not my favorite nature sight. Important - The main reason why I gave a mediocre star rating was because we are not locals and will suggest that they make good signage to follow the unpaved/gravel road, which they way it was June 2025, it sent us in a big loop, including that you may hit a big shut gate and have to go all the way back. Google maps did NOT know that. So AVOID the gravel road!!! if you don't know the area. It was a waste of time for us trying to use Google maps. Ok, for bathroom use, for both...
