It was very nice visiting the home of one of my favorite poets. There isn’t a whole lot to see inside, but there are assorted pictures on the walls and newspaper clippings. They have a few books for purchase, and something that tells you he wrote “Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening” after taking a walk in the woods behind this home. There’s a poet trail out back and we followed it. At various points you see another line of the poem with a watercolor picture done by an artist. We really enjoyed it. The house from the outside and the grounds are ok, but inside, just two very plain rooms with some info on the walls (That I could have looked up online myself) and a few books on a table. Paying $10 for this, I felt like I had been robbed. I asked the guy selling the tickets if the two rooms was really the whole museum, he said yes, and then said that I could pick up the items from the table to play around with…...What? I am surprised of the many good reviews; it is like we have seen two different museums, you have to be a Robert Frost super fan to enjoy...
   Read moreIf you are a Robert Frost fan, this is a must see spot. I was the only person there and think this museum could do more with it's offerings. The tourist in me wanted to give 3 stars but the historic preservationists in me gives 4 stars for potential. Would love to see artists in residence, hear Robert Frost as I walked through from speakers (I didn't trust myself to play the vinyl as suggested) and suggest more seasonal views of the property that inspired natural references in his poetry.
