This is a very nice rest stop as you go to Norwich University, my son went to COLLEGE there and received his bachelor's degree, we always stopped here, it put us if I remembered correctly, about 40 minutes away, as a Rook, perfect place to change into uniform or other side, change out, everyone are very nice, they serve free Green Mountain coffee and they use the K-cups here, they take donations in order to give free coffee, then they have baked goods sales also from area places, again, all donations are welcome, only a few that come in, charge. They have the cleanest bathrooms I ever used for public restrooms, they smell clean also, they recycle the water in urinals threw some recycling system that makes the water green when comes out but smells super clean, so don't touch and make sure to tell your kids not to touch, there's signs also, only issues I've had, they have soda machines and snack machines, sometimes it eats your MONEY, people there DON'T run them at all, there's a number to call, never had my calls answered from lost MONEY a few times, plus there very PRICEY, that's the last time I've been there. I wish all HIGHWAY RESTROOMS COULD BE ALL LIKE THIS ONE, BESIDES NICE MOUNTAINS, THEY HAVE NICE RESTROOMS, STATES VERY HIGH ON TAXES. I HATED PAYING TAXES ON BUYING ANYTHING UP IN VERMONT. 9% IS A LOT, I THOUGHT 7% WAS A LOT. AGAIN THE CLEANEST RESTROOMS EVER SEEN OR USED. 1st stop once in VERMONT AFTER EXIT 1 ON...

There is free WiFi, there is free coffee/tea (donations appreciated), and there is room to take a seat and rest (indoors or out) or to walk around and stretch your legs. Other attractions include the Veterans Memorial, and the Living Machine (a greenhouse you can walk through that is actively treating the waste water from the rest area). There are also a couple of displays in the main rotunda about Vermonters in the Vietnam conflict, and for various Vermont businesses (and of course there are fliers for Vermont attractions). As long as I don't need to stop for a meal, this is my preferred spot to take a break or change drivers on my way north to Mad River Glen from the...
Read moreBest welcome/rest facility in the United States! I miss the pre Covid coffee bar the Vets maintained. Hopefully, one day the bake sales and gift table fund raising groups will be able to return to greet the road weary. The waste water treatment complex behind the building is the model for our future, and easily accessible for an educational self tour. The mural of the history of the Vietnam War is essential to always remember- never forget. Fully stocked snack and beverage vending machines, fresh cold water dispenser, local craft and furniture displays and outside picnic grounds with manicured lawns and big sky views. All of Vermont's highway system has by far the most pet friendly and attractively designed welcome stops but this one is absolutely the...
